Strategy Analyst – External Supply & Manufacturing

In this role you will be responsible for the critical business data and insights that support development of the external network strategy and help ESM to make better decisions, address key challenges and concerns, and identify new ways to improve.

You will gather, review, and test data and apply many measures to provide solutions to critical business issues and decisions, addressing business problems with a long-term 2 to 10 years and beyond view, but when necessary, assist in the short-term. All whilst supporting the identification of potential long-term business issues and the development contingency plans to effectively mitigate risks.

You will partner effectively across many areas of the organisation including Strategy Leads, Procurement and Global Planning to enable the gathering of critical data and to provide actionable insights and modelling to improve strategy development and performance. Using a professional presentation style to communicate and create effective visuals to convey data/info in easily digestible manner with clear takeaways that support decision making, including the development of dashboards, executive summaries, and weekly/monthly reports to measure against strategic KPIs and market dynamics.

What you’ll do:

  • Responsible for collecting and managing critical business insights (both internal and external) to support fact based decision making for the 2 to 10 year and beyond planning horizon
  • Key data analysis, consolidation, performance assessment and insights derived in support of the Strategy Lead across their respective Technology area
  • Supports the development of a long term demand, capacity and supply forecast to enable external strategic plan development (including for the ESM Technology Forum)
  • Leads data analytics projects in support of the ESM strategy
  • Conduct research and analyses of market and supply chain trends, operational and process effectiveness, performance outcomes and drivers


  • A degree or equivalent in Business, Logistics, Sciences or Engineering is preferred, equivalent experience will be taken into account
  • Experience in applying data analysis techniques, e.g., Regression, Monte Carlo, Cluster, etc.
  • IT and systems skills, e.g., Power BI, Excel, SQL, etc.
  • Business and financial modelling skills
  • Problem solving skills
  • Creativity, innovation and learning on the fly
  • Supply chain and manufacturing experience
  • Excellent communication, stakeholder mgt and interpersonal skills, with the ability to make the complex simple
  • Ability to influence and create trust at a senior level


  • APICS / CSCP or equivalent certification
  • Degree or experience in a business or related field (MBA preferred)
  • Proficient in supply chain management, lean supply chain methodology and data integrity
  • Understanding of business operations and procedures
  • Competitive and market analysis experience
  • Business case development
  • Some project management experience
  • An understanding of pharmaceutical or broader healthcare/FMCG industries
