The Oncology Medical Information and Scientific Communications Team is on an exciting journey to serve healthcare professionals and patients with the best medical information and user-experience in innovative ways. New digital channels and services have been implemented and our content creation has been brought to a new level of customer satisfaction and services. The Oncology Medical Information team also acts as a Medical Communication function and creates high quality and innovative content for the field medical teams (MSLs). We are a team of more than 70 colleagues and grouped into 4 tumour areas and now expanding to 5.
The Tumour Director leads one of five tumour area teams in Oncology Medical Information and Communications. The Tumour Director is accountable for the Global and US Oncology Medical Information Tumour Area strategy and implementation. The Tumour Director will be part of the Oncology Medical Information Core Leadership Team (ONC MI-CLT) and the role includes leadership of a team of first-line managers and Medical Information and Medical Communications professionals.
Leading a Tumour Area Team of first line managers and Medical Information and Medical Communications professionals
Creation, planning and execution of the Medical Information Tumour Area strategy and tight collaboration with Global and US Medical Affairs Tumour Area heads and leads
Workforce planning, resource and budget planning, execution and reporting.
As a member of the Medical Information Core Leadership Team to evolve the organization for the future, ensure a great place to work and champion inclusion & diversity
People development, coaching and mentoring. Anticipates leadership development needs through demonstrated broad business perspective and effective needs analysis
As a member of the Global and US Medical Affairs Tumour Leadership Team, contribute to the development of the respective Tumour Area and Medicine strategies, objectives and plans
Drive collaboration with key Global and US stakeholders in Medical Affairs, Medical Excellence and Field Medical teams to define innovative approaches for delivery of scientific information for the Tumour Area
Coordinates with Medical Information and Medical Affairs Leadership across Global and US to develop, manage and maintain processes and technologies that maximize effective and efficient delivery of Scientific content
Responsible for the development or review of Global and US processes, guidance, job aids, and related documents for Medical Information.
Doctoral level degree in scientific discipline or applicable health sciences field (PharmD, PhD, MD or equivalent)
Demonstrated Leadership experience in a team-based organization (>5 years) including people management, performance and talent management
Deep Medical information or Medical Affairs experience preferably in leadership roles
Demonstrated experience in Drug Information, Medical Communications, knowledge of applicable regulations and a patient-centric mindset
Experience in strategic planning processes and an understanding the business needs and the strategic impact of services on end user
Significant experience in budget management and understanding of basic financial procedures (including budget management) and demonstrated ability in project management
Ability to navigate in a matrix organization
Team player with a positive attitude who has the ability to work independently and lead teams
Excellent interpersonal, diplomatic and negotiation skills
Excellent written and oral communication skills with good presentation skills
Ability to adapt quickly to various business situations and environments
Innovative mindset with experience in developing new services & programs - Digital communications and services experience desired.
