Job Description
This is a great opportunity to join our established Chemical Regulatory Compliance team as a Safety Data Sheet Specialist. You will be responsible for compiling safety data sheets for AstraZeneca manufactured materials globally, in compliance with global regulatory framework (GHS and CLP). The role involves working with toxicology and environment specialists within Global SHE and aligned project toxicology and project directors for each AstraZeneca material.
Responsibilities
- Provides expertise in the authoring of Safety Data Sheets for substances and mixtures to ensure compliance with both global and regional regulations.
- Knowledgeable in supply labelling requirements.
- Maintains technical documentation to support the Safety Data Sheets to guarantee the provision of a high quality professional and auditable document.
- Provide solutions to complex customer queries, using regulatory knowledge.
- Collaborating with experts in other AZ functions to ensure that Safety Data Sheets contain accurate information.
- Maintains Regulatory expertise relevant to GHS and CLP regulations.
- Responsible for managing customer needs and expectations.
- Contribution to projects on all regulatory & compliance matters: system efficiency, integration of new entities, maintenance of policies and procedures;
- Contribution to implementation and review of internal procedures and processes to ensure continuous improvement.
Essentials
A Chemistry or Science background.
Authoring experience of Safety data Sheets and labeling requirements.
Strong communication and influencing skills.
A high level of expertise in Global Chemical Legislations, particularly CLP and GHS.
Experience with Safety, Health and Environment
Knowledge of any relevant legislation/developments in the area of Safety Health and Environment, and maintain own professional awareness and development
Holds a professional Occupational Safety and Health certificate or equivalent in health, science or engineering discipline
Strong communication and influencing skills
Project and people management
Desirable
Understanding of multiple aspects of Safety, Health and Environment
Experience in SAP EH&S software
