We are currently looking for a dynamic Platform Programme Manager to work alongside the Digital Lab Platform Lead to help the Platform thrive in its strategic delivery role.

The engine of Research & Development is in our Labs - it's where 1500 scientists perform 100k experiments a year to support and drive our drug discovery projects. We are looking for a dynamic Platform Project Manager to help deliver a roadmap of innovative products. The Digital Lab Platform Team is accountable for a portfolio of Digital Lab Applications, used by Scientists, for primary analysis, for lab workflows and driving lab operations.

In Early Science, we have highly skilled scientists in our labs who experiment and support complex drug projects. The environment is driven by scientific and technical innovation with a high level of diversity in workflows, data and vendors.

What you'll do:

Working alongside your Platform Lead, Architects and other IT and science partners, you will be responsible for

  • Managing budgets (forecast and actuals) for people, environments, infrastructure, licensing, cloud services, etc…​
  • Ensuring business benefits are captured, measured and monitored ​
  • PI planning cadence & output​
  • Establishing the Platform roadmap, platform RAID (including the service risks)
  • Managing project initiations and project deliveries​
  • Supporting the Platform Lead on Platform governance
  • Supporting Platform Lead on platform capability development (people and processes)

Your work will have a direct impact on the science we do and you have an opportunity to enable our scientists to do science not possible today.

Essential Skills and Experience for the role:

  • Project/platform Agile delivery experience
  • Managing partners across different locations
  • Science, Technical or Business degree or equivalent years of experience
  • IT Project Management experience, ideally in a Pharmaceutical environment with experience of GxP and validation
  • Blue-chip or multinational company experience
  • Proven project management skills and experience of delivering, leading and controlling large projects /programmes (managing plans, budgets and forecasts, tasks, risks and issues, change management and status reporting to support effective decisions and project reporting to partners and review boards) – hands on management of this, not oversight and consultancy
  • Development of IT quality documentation management
  • Coordinate status and delivery of project workstreams. Identify / manage dependencies between projects (intra-program and across portfolio).
  • Experience of working with external vendors and onshore and offshore suppliers
  • Experience working in a global organization and across cultural boundaries
  • Experience of both project and service delivery, SLA management etc could be beneficial but certainly not critical.
  • Understanding of GxP compliance would be beneficial
