role sits on the Americas Commercial Procurement Team and reports to the Senior Director of Commercial Oncology Procurement. This role will support the US & Global markets for the Market Access category and will plan/lead the global category strategy.


  • Being responsible for the implementation of the Market Access category strategy in the US and Global markets to optimize business efficiency
  • Accountable for global category management activities related to strategic sourcing, supplier collaboration and innovation, supplier performance management, contract and risk management
  • Accountable for maintaining expert knowledge of respective US and global supply markets, competitors and innovations
  • Facilitate implementation of procurement change initiatives within category to improve business performance

Business & Supplier Engagement:

  • Develop an extensive understanding of customer needs and the business environment with senior marketers. Build positive relationship with customers and ensure customer satisfaction and engagement
  • Address supplier issues to ensure the highest level of service delivery. Maintains contractual and business relationships with suppliers to the highest standards
  • Develops senior level relationships in order to resolve issues, optimize business performance and develop future improvement opportunities
  • Lead the implementation of key performance metrics across the business and supervise progress
  • Negotiate with suppliers to resolve contractual issues
  • Develop positive relationships with suppliers to achieve efficient pricing and quality of services
  • Drive competitive sourcing events (RFIs and RFPs) and support supplier evaluation, selection commercial negotiation and market awareness
  • Review and approve annual scopes of work
  • Partner with key suppliers to review Market Access related savings initiatives and report to Finance team
  • Instil the highest standards of compliance and ethics consistently across AZ


  • Bachelor’s degree preferably in a business related or marketing field
  • Market Access or Procurement experience
  • Detailed knowledge of pharmaceutical industry
  • Expertise in at least one area of Procurement and knowledge of several others
  • Strong interpersonal, communication, teamwork, negotiation, analytical and project management skills
  • Confirmed leadership experience and ability to work independently with minimal mentor


  • Understanding of multiple aspects of procurement process
  • Master’s degree a business related or marketing discipline
