Responsibilities:

We are now recruiting for Cut Check Weigh Operators upon one of our Sterile Production Plants based at Macclesfield campus where we manufacture one of our oncology products. Work in a highly regulated environment, ensuring compliance with Safety, Health and Environmental (SHE), current Good Manufacturing Practice (cGMP), and AstraZeneca standards at all times.

  • Key tasks include; set up and operation of specific operating equipment, operation of weighing/counting balances and Performing Hatch Transfers of consumables, components and various equipment.
  • Responsible for performing minor interventions and participating in major interventions.
  • Regularly perform cleaning operations of general APA and White Area locations, conduct equipment performance, environmental and personal monitoring.
  • Following standard operating procedures (SOP's) and adhering to strict Aseptic Practices whilst performing complex manufacturing processes.
  • Completing paper and electronic documentation ensuring your work is 100% right first time.
  • Supporting problem solving activities to resolve equipment/product quality issues.
  • Collating data from your work area and participating as a team member in improvement projects
  • Working effectively as a member of the team to ensure that good communication is maintained across the various teams and shift

Cut-Check-Weighing Tasks include:

  • Product Inspection
  • Manual Assembly of QC samples in syringes
  • Archiving of electronic records
  • Critical positioning and alignment of equipment e.g. analytical balance
  • Managing stock and performing critical checks within the product store

Essential Requirements:

  • A-levels in a Science, Technology or Maths subject area or equivalent
  • Computer literate and comfortable working in a highly digital environment
  • Previous experience of following SOP's in a SHE and GMP controlled environment with a strong attention to detail
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Experience of delivering against targets and/or deadlines

Desired Requirements

  • Recent work experience within a sterile manufacturing environment
  • Experience of Manufacturing Excellence/Lean ways of working including problem solving and continuous improvement techniques
  • Degree in a Science, Technology or Maths discipline or equivalent

The roles have a two-shift operation, Monday to Friday, 6am – 1.25pm and 13.15pm – 8.40pm

Please note:

  • These roles will require working within a highly regulated and compliant sterile area, adhering to aseptic practices for up to 8 hours a day. You will be sterile area gowned for the majority of the shift.
  • This position is internally aligned to SA91 Grade 6
  • Successful candidates who will be joining AZ as employees will be offered the roles on a Fixed Term Contract to expire when the facility closes at the end of 2025; existing employees will be offered the opportunity on a permanent basis.
