What you’ll do

The ORD Project Management Office is a new function within Oncology R&D. There are a number of strategic transformational change initiatives that require robust direction and management to ensure we optimise the delivery and adoption of these programmes of work.

The Project Manager will be responsible for leading 3-5 complex workstreams or projects under the direction of the Programme Lead (Senior Director, Programme Management) who is responsible for multiple large scale, transformational change programmes.

The role provides an opportunity to be involved in critical strategic programmes that will change the way we work in Oncology R&D and beyond. You will have exposure to senior leaders and different disciplines and learn about different functions and departments.

We are looking for curious, proactive and highly collaborative Project Managers with a robust understanding and experience of the drug development lifecycle. You will be able to motivate others, take ownership for projects and maintain high standards for delivery. You will work within programme / transformation teams and the business to ensure workstream and project deliverables fall within scope and budget and coordinate with other departments and / or Project Managers to ensure alignment between different initiatives.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage workstreams / projects supporting a Programme Lead who has overall accountability for the portfolio of projects and programmes

  • Create, agree and deliver project plans

  • Manage project budgets, forecasts, tasks, schedules, risks, change management, and status to support effective decisions and project reporting to stakeholders and review boards.

  • Develop transition plans to ensure project delivered solutions are sustainable within a BAU operations environment, including controlled hand-over into operational support.

  • Ensure risks are captured and develop mitigation plans with the business workstream or project lead

  • Inform the Project and / or Programme Lead of critical risks, changes in scope, changes to plans in a timely manner

  • Adhere to PMO standards, processes, capabilities, and best practices.

Essential Skills

  • Pharma / drug development experience

  • Very strong stakeholder management skills

  • Ability to identify and maintain tight control over all aspects of the programme

  • Proven problem solving capabilities.

  • A capable knowledge of Financial Management and Benefits Delivery practices.

  • Strong communication, relationship and consulting skills

  • Excellent business acumen with sensitivity to environment

  • Experience with project management and delivery methodologies and standards
