The Role:

The Global Commercial Head Hematology is a foundational role for our ambitious Hematology entry and expansion – a field that comes with highly diverse and significant scientific and commercial opportunity. We are determined to create a leading Hematology franchise in the years ahead, driving successful worldwide access and commercialization for our leading medicine, and creating a longterm strategy towards a diversified Hematology portfolio.

As a key contributor to future growth we seek dedicated global commercial leadership to successfully shape and mobilize a young organization across functions and markets, maximizing the global potential of the brand, and delivering commercial excellence in the strategic planning for future portfolio in close collaboration with our partners at Research and Development.

Your main Accountabilities and tasks:

  • You are accountable for Global Hematology commercial strategy and the commercial success of our Hematology assets

  • You develop, shape, evolve and implement resources and programs to support the full commercial range of lifecycle deliverables

  • You with core markets to prepare for / deliver on all Hematology commercialization and launch programs, with a focus on initiated and upcoming launch and commercialization

  • You build and shape capabilities in global and in markets to drive state of the art commercialization

  • You contribute to the broader Oncology Therapeutic Area strategy

  • You represent Hematology business perspectives to crossfunctional teams, senior executives and governance committees, ensuring that commercialization priorities are appropriately considered across the entire lifecycle of Hematology assets

  • You manage and expand the global commercial /marketing team for the brand and the upcoming portfolio of Hematology products

  • You collaborate with an extended team to deliver a sustainable pricing and access strategy for respective indications

  • You contribute actively to advancing, accelerating, simplifying our working and partnering models and processes towards maximum value creation for patients, healthcare, societies and AstraZeneca

Your education, knowledge and experience

  • Undergraduate scientific background

  • Medical and/or PhD / MBA desired

  • Profound understanding of drug development and commercialization in Hematology

  • Solid grasp of ongoing paradigm changes and future trends in healthcare commercialization

  • Proven track record of experience / accountability for business success in a major healthcare market

  • Broad commercial experience with proven track record of key commercialization deliveries (e.g. pre-launch / launch / HTA validation / longterm business planning and business case development)

  • Strong strategic thinking, judgement and influencing skills

  • Strong leadership attributes to set direction, generate commitment, balance short and long term needs, constructively resolve issues, integrate crossfunctional contributions

  • Proven experience and knowledge of a broad base of external partners and customers including patients, prescribers, payors, providers and in/out license partners.

  • Strong understanding of key commercialization and marketing skill sets

  • P&L Management

  • Experienced with key global regulations in the field of Healthcare and Medical compliance and commercialization as well as Pharmacovigilance
