Role overview
The Data & Analytics programme exists to increase the effectiveness and efficiency in Data (governance and management) and Analytics across AstraZeneca (AZ). It is part of AZ’s Future of Work Transformation
The Data & Analytics Programme PMO Lead role exists to maximise the effectiveness of the programme team and the project teams within the programme. The role-holder should be detail-oriented and be obsessive about team productivity with a ‘kind but firm’ approach to the team delivering its programme objectives
Accountabilities
Provide ‘Chief of Staff’ support to the D&A Programme Lead, which includes:
ensuring upcoming meetings, document submission deadlines, etc. are clear in all relevant team members’ minds
ensuring relevant materials/ plans are circulated to the appropriate people
being able to represent (at a reasonable level of detail) the status of each D&A project to the Programme Leadership Team at any given time
managing and chairing the D&A Programme Leadership Team calendar for programme-level meetings (circa 4-5 meetings per week), seeking clear objectives and agendas to make good use of scarce time
Manage all “upward” communications with the TMO (Transformation Management Office), including status reports / management reporting and ad-hoc document requests; including representing the programme by attending TMO meetings
Manage “downward” communications with the circa 4 project teams (PMs / Project Leaders), ensuring they are clear on the programme’s expectations of them (status reporting, etc.) and that relevant programme- or TMO- level information is communicated to them
Manage and maintain all programme plans (current version of project charters, programme-level activities and milestones, RAIDD logs, etc.) and documentation (shared folders, etc.)
Essential attributes
Strong organisational skills, self-starter attitude and effective interpersonal skills
Advanced skills in Microsoft applications (Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint, MS Teams, SharePoint)
Knowledge of project management methodologies, tools and templates, inc. business-case/ financial tracking and risk management
Relevant programme management office experience, or equivalent
Situational leadership skills to behave and communicate effectively whether talking to Senior Executive Team (SET) level or with the most junior team members
Desirable attributes
Subject matter knowledge of data and analytics
Experience running PMO in blue-chip, matrix-managed change programmes
Experience/ awareness of Agile delivery
