Introduction to role:
Are you ready to embrace new and varied opportunities to develop and learn? We are seeking a Senior Scientist to provide technical and hands-on expertise on complex molecular biology, high throughput cloning, cassette and multigene expression construct optimisation. This role is crucial in supporting immune editing cell therapy discovery, technology development projects and helping build the next generation manufacture strategies to drive our Cell Therapy ambitions.

Accountabilities:
As a Senior Scientist, you will independently design, plan and implement engineering and screening strategies for Immune Cell Therapy discovery or technology projects. You will work as part of multi-disciplinary research drug discovery/technology project teams, contributing to the development of clinical manufacture strategies, reagents or targets to support cell therapy discovery projects. You will record and interpret complex experimental results, analyse and report findings to manager, project teams and the wider organisation. You will also provide training/guidance to junior scientists on technical and functional processes.

Essential Skills/Experience:

  • PhD or equivalent experience in Molecular Biology, Cell Biology or Immunology
  • Extensive experience with complex vector engineering, high throughput cloning (e.g. Golden Gate cloning), cassette optimisation, multigene expression screening.
  • Experience with mammalian cell culture (stable and adherent lines), vector engineering, molecular and cell biology techniques e.g. PCR, FACS, flow cytometry, FACS, transfection, transduction, and assay development.
  • Experience with gene editing technologies. (CRISPR/Cas9, TALENs, Zinc Finger nucleases)
  • Scientific excellence as shown by previous work and publication history.
