As Area Workforce Planning and ExecutionLead you are accountable for proactivelyanticipating, defining, and executing on a strategic plan to forecast and fulfil short-term, medium-and long-term demand for skills across all sources of supply for the Area.In direct support of the Future Ready Workforce pillar of Avanade’s Ambition 2025 company strategy, you will set the strategic direction of workforce planning - for a workforce of 8K+ within Europe- to prepare for waves of growth and opportunity, and to fortify our position in times of economic headwinds.


Reporting to the Area COO (Chief Operating Officer),you will collaborate closely with key partners (listed below) to position the business to build the necessary industry skills needed to remain competitive. In support of the Area workforce strategy, you will work in close collaboration with HRLeadership to drive and implement an enhanced Build, Borrow, Buy Talent Strategy across the Areathatdevelops unique sourcing strategies across geographies.


You will foster open communication and provide decisive leadership to empower Workforce Planning, Capability development and Scheduling personnel. As part of your commitment to enabling these stakeholders, you will drive operational excellenceby encouragingefficient execution of existingglobally standard tools and processes for Workforce Planning and Execution.

ROLE ACCOUNTABILITIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:


Define and own the monthly Area Workforce plan – working in partnership with stakeholderstodrivemonthly execution of the Area Workforce Plan, including adjustments in line with business strategy, financial forecast, performance and priorities:


  • Conduct/consolidate skills gap analysis to determine and drive plan that balancesbuild, buy, borrow” actions (i.e., beyond short-term supply-demand matching)across a dynamic and flexible workforce model (i.e., Onshore, Nearshore, Offshore, Subcontractors, and Associate Networks)
  • Partner with HR to drive the intersection of the Area Talent Strategy and the Area Workforce Plan
  • Leverageexisting globally consistent system and process integration points to establish a true “end to end” resource management model that will scale with business growth
  • Work with Solution Area Leads, Region Workforce Planning & Execution (WP&E) Leads, and Advanced Technology Centers (ATCs) to determine need for strategic skills-building proactiveinvestments over and above those supporting known demand in Area/Regions
  • Work with Region WP&E Leads/Talent Community Leads to feed consolidated “build” decisions into Area HR Learning & Development priorities
  • Lead Subcontractor procurement, compliance and monitoring activities, leveragingAccenture providedtools and processes
  • Provide guidance and point-of-escalation support to Region WP&E Leadsto ensure they are fully empowered and equipped to make local decisions on client-facing hiring, subcontractor usage, and skills rotation
  • Empower Region WP&E Leadsto leverage insights / identify leading indicators from existing Workforce Power BI reporting. Based on those leading indicators, drive Region WP&E Leads to define and be accountable for their region improvement plans in coordination with the Area COO
  • Accountable for analysis of productivity and chargeability of consulting talent to identify chargeability/recovery gaps and issues across the Area
  • Accountable for analysis and forecasting of talent supply and demand to support project and workforce planning across the Area
  • Collaborate with Area HR leadership to clarify roles and responsibilities for Regional Talent CommunityLeads, Workforce Planning Leads and Schedulers to drive Area-wide consistency and efficiency
  • Partner with Area COO and Region Operations Leads to guide processes and change management to achieve workforce plan execution and effective engagement ofall Area/Regionalstakeholders
  • Championexisting globally consistent processes, templates, training materials and reporting covering all aspects of Workforce Planning and Execution, Scheduling and Subcontractor Procurement
  • Serve as the ultimate point of escalation on matters impacting Workforce Plan execution, especially on matters in support of talent capability development and rotation
  • Provide regular Workforce Planning and Execution reporting and insights to Executive Leadership

TECHNICAL AND NON-TECHNICAL SKILL REQUIREMENTS:


  • Demonstrated experience of successful and collaborative planning and execution (financial, operational, or people-based) across multiple locations, preferably multi-year
  • Proven ability to drive complex process, change implementation and stakeholder management at pace– garnering actionable insightsfrom data with ease
  • Demonstrated managerial and leadership experience with remote teams across multiple time-zones
  • Comfortable making tough decisions and “speaking truth to power”
  • Exhibits “Growth mindset” to foster new and creative solutions to familiar operational problems
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills are essential – especially to tailor and explain difficult concepts and influence/persuade stakeholders with various priorities
  • Extensive experience with workforce planning, skills planning, and/or scheduling in a Consulting environment is preferred

You will likely possess a Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) in a relevant field. You will have 7+ years of prior work experience, preferably in consulting or technology

You will be Career Adviser to the leads within the Scheduling and Resource Operations team and you will lead the Talent Community Leadership team.
