Job Title: Lead Project Professional - Bid Management

Location: Barrow, Manchester & Filton. We offer hybrid and flexible working arrangements.

Salary: £40k - £48k per annum

What you’ll be doing:

  • Working with cross functional teams to develop price, bid artefacts and proposal documentation including defining capability and capacity across functions
  • Working through the customer requirement development strategy to address ‘how we are going to do this’ to form the proposition prior to moving into negotiation
  • Undertaking bid integration project management, including Life Cycle Management and Gate Review process analysis
  • Supporting solutions’ development activities including ensuring compliance is in place
  • Providing oversight of the development of reports and bidding activities
  • Working with the wider organisation to generate strategies and bid artefacts

Your skills and experiences:

Essential

  • Project Management Experience

  • A good knowledge of Project Life Cycle Management

  • An understanding of Bid Management within a complex environment

Desirable

  • Knowledge of Risk Management

  • Experience with Supply Chain contract and supplier management

The Programme Team

This role will be working either directly in one of our Submarine Programmes or centrally as part of our wider Bid Management function. They are responsible for all major bids and new business activity on the programme and ensure that contractual obligations are adhered to. The team work closely with external customer stakeholders as well as large cross cross-functional teams (Programme and Business level) to generate and submit bid proposals along with supporting artefacts, ensuring compliance with lifecycle management frameworks and Business processes.

Submarine Business

Our Submarines business has been safely delivering world class submarines to the UK Royal Navy for more than a century.

The Astute class will equip the Royal Navy with its largest and most capable generation of attack submarines. We are responsible for the design, build, test and commissioning of these state-of-the-art vessels. In total, seven boats will make up the fleet, each weighing a mighty 7,400 tonnes.

Dreadnought is the successor to the Vanguard class of nuclear deterrent submarines. We will deliver four submarines to the Royal Navy, with the first submarine entering service in the early 2030s. Dreadnought is widely considered to be one of the world's most complex engineering challenges.
