Job title: Senior Electronic Design Engineer

Location: Broad Oak (Portsmouth), Cowes, or Great Baddow. We offer a range of hybrid and flexible working arrangements - please speak to your recruiter about the options for this particular role.

Salary: Up to £55,800 depending on experience

What you’ll be doing:

  • Carrying out detailed electronic circuit design including component selection, evaluation, simulation, schematic capture, and preparing guidance for PCB (Printed Circuit boards) design teams
  • Specification of bespoke procured hardware
  • Completing design verification using a combination of simulation, analysis, and test techniques including support to EMC (Electromagnetic Compatibility) test houses and customer installations
  • Interfacing with related disciplines including EMC, systems engineering, mechanical/thermal engineering, Integrated Logistics Support, Safety, Product Data Management, and manufacturing areas
  • Working with embedded software and PLD (Programmable Logic Device) engineers
  • Supporting system integration activities

Your skills and experiences:

  • A degree in Electronic/Electrical Engineering or a strongly related subject
  • Experience of generating component level designs for introduction into volume production
  • Experience in board-level analogue design including op-amps, transistor-level design
  • Experience in board-level digital design including processor interfacing, memory devices, PLD interfacing, UARTs, SPI, I2C, Ethernet and ADC/DAC devices and techniques
  • Experience of design proving, integration, and defect resolution

The Electronics Design team:

The team is responsible for detailed electronic circuit design including component selection, evaluation, simulation, schematic capture, and preparing guidance for PCB (Printed Circuit boards) design teams. This is a rare opportunity to join a team developing a new underwater weapon.
