Job title: Commissioning Leader EMTS Electrical

Location: Barrow-in-Furness (on site full time)

Salary: Competitive

What you’ll be doing:

  • Leading the team (Team Leaders and Test Electricians) to provide T&C with the required support to complete Trials and evolutions
  • Day-to-day co-ordination of various work packages to ensure priorities are dealt with and departments readiness responsibilities for major evolutions are met (looking ahead and preparing)
  • Managing and allocating resources to suit the demand across multiple platforms/projects
  • People Management responsibilities including ensuring correct time booking
  • Management and operation of AC & DC Shore Supplies to boats in build

Your skills and experiences:

Essentials:

  • HNC or above in Electrical Engineering advantageous but not essential (depending on applicable experience)
  • Time served Electrician with background/considerable experience in Electrical Engineering environments (shipyard, oil rig, gas terminal etc.)
  • Previous experience working with high voltage systems and/or safe systems of work (isolation process) advantageous

Desirables:

  • Time served Electrician with experience working in the field
  • Previous team leading experience
  • Involvement in maintenance and/or shore service provision in a similar industry

The EMTS Electrical team:

The Electrical & Mechanical Test Section provides direct support for the Test & Commissioning Test Sections by:

  • Providing temporary supplies for trials and boat evolutions
  • Managing & operating AC & DC shore supplies to Boats in build
  • Conducting Maintenance on Ship's fit items prior to final Commissioning taking place and also on stored equipment prior to fitment on board
  • Operational/Tradal support during Commissioning activities
  • Conducting Early Series Testing to ensure ships systems are in the correct state for Commissioning activities
  • Electrical team conducts Commissioning and Set to Work activities on low voltage systems on behalf of T&C
