Location: Warton/Samlesbury/Yeovil (other UK locations can be considered). Hybrid working

Salary: Competitive - Car allowance included in addition to salary

What you’ll be doing:

  1. Through the use of Industry best practice in Information Architecture principles:
  • Lead the ongoing strategy and implementation of information for the Air Sector and contribute to wider corporate digital capabilities through the Central Chief Technology & Information Officer organisation
  • Ensure that the information required to support the sector throughout its life-cycle is defined, catalogued and assured in accordance with corporate guidelines and policies
  • Ensure compliance with relevant statutory regulations
  1. Information/Data Management:
  • Establish an Information Management Framework, and associated capabilities effective and efficient reuse and exploitation of data for business benefit
  • Provide expert advice and guidance to the organisation to get maximum value from its digital data assets
  1. Data Modelling and Design:
  • Set standards for use and application of data modelling, design tools and techniques, advising on and ensuring compliance
  • Establish management capabilities to control the changes to data requirements and data models
  1. Data Science & Business Intelligence:
  • Contribute to developing policy, standards and guidelines for deploying data science and business intelligence solutions
  1. Data Engineering:
  • Drive the development of solutions ensuring they balance functional and non-functional requirements
  • Assure application of data standards and architectures including safety, security and compliance at sector level

Your skills and experiences:


  • Experience working in the Information Management domain
  • Defining/developing IM strategies and implementations
  • Familiarity with and or competence in: IM best practices (e.g. DAMA), standards and governance regimes, ToGAF practices, Information modelling techniques (e.g. Archimate, SysML, UML)


  • Team Leadership experience
  • TOGAF certification

The IM&T team:

Reporting directly to the Air Chief IM&T Architect, the successful candidate will lead the team responsible for the ongoing Information Architecture development in the sector. You will be passionate about the importance of exploiting information as a business asset and experienced in developing compelling cases for investment in information management at an enterprise level.

You will be able to communicate technical information for non-technical people and be self-motivated to work on your own. There will be some travel within the UK and potential for international travel once/twice per year.
