Job title: Senior Engineer – Systems Engineering

Location: Scotstoun (Bristol and Portsmouth also considered) - We offer a range of hybrid and flexible working arrangements

Salary: £40,000-£46,000 (dependent on qualifications and experience)

What you’ll be doing:

  • Providing assurance to the customer and internal stakeholders that the desired performance is being met and maintained by the evolving design, through a series of wholeship design, zonal and compartment reviews
  • Supporting the activities which underwrite the design assurance strategy, design resilience and protect the integrity of the design (including management of technical risk, engineering lifecycle management, product maturity management and reporting)
  • Developing, maintaining and modifying engineering processes and procedures in assigned areas in response to technical developments and operational need
  • Management of artefacts that record the engineering design of the product
  • Developing, maintaining and modifying engineering management plans, and communicating them to internal and external stakeholders
  • Management of Engineering Quality Issues and Stakeholder Observations relating to Compartment or 3D model reviews
  • Support to design management work (including margins management, modelling, verification and validation assessment)
  • Interacting with all stakeholders in assigned areas on engineering matters, to resolve relatively complex problems and issues

Your skills and experiences:

Essential:

  • Degree level qualification (or equivalent experience) in relevant STEM subject

  • Chartered Engineer (CEng) or working towards applying for CEng Status

  • An understanding of the engineering design process and systems engineering lifecycle

Sound understanding of systems engineering methodologies and processes and experience in writing engineering processes and procedures

Desirable:

  • Experience of working in a customer-facing and/or supplier engagement role

The Systems Engineering Team:

As a Senior Engineer – Systems Engineering, you will have the opportunity to work across the integrated whole ship, which includes development of the design from conception and evolution, through to Customer delivery.
