Job title: Software Architect

Salary: £70,000

What you’ll be doing:

  • Analysis, design and delivery of solutions to meet programme, business and customer requirements
  • Applying engineering expertise to solve complex engineering problems
  • Leading, inspiring and developing engineering teams
  • Knowledge of the latest technologies and how they can be applied to complex problems – COTS and specialist hardware, software, security and networking technologies
  • Building relationships with customers and partners
  • Leading the design and engineering aspects of winning bids
  • Promoting the development and evolution of innovative ideas to provide new products and solutions
  • You’ll also have people manager responsibilities in this role.

Your skills and experiences:

Essential:

  • Leading the technical solution through the whole lifecycle from concept to in-service
  • Providing technical leadership of engineering teams
  • Understanding customer requirements (both in terms of technology need and operational context)

Desirable:

  • Experience of Software & Systems Engineering

Understanding of:

  • Information Systems and architectures
  • MoD or Industry IT projects and programmes

The Digital Intelligence – C5ISR team:

This Software Architect role will offer you the opportunity to be part of the Engineering Function based out of either our Hillend or Yeovil site, orchestrating the overall design of our software products, providing technical leadership and ensuring we produce high quality & robust software (e.g. fit-for-purpose, safe, secure and meet legal & regulatory requirements).
