Job title: Senior Financial Accountant (Statutory Reporting and Tax)

Salary: £43,000

What you’ll be doing:

  • Preparing the Statutory accounts of a number of BAE legal entities under FRS 101 and 102 using the supporting accounting records
  • Meeting with senior business unit personal and walking them through the legal entities’ statutory accounts
  • Preparing initial analysis of PSA returns and preparing taxation packs to facilitate group tax submission
  • Preparing P11Ds and calculation of Class 1a NI liability
  • Assisting with group tax queries
  • Liaising with external auditors to ensure that the statutory accounts can be authorised by the deadline
  • Attending year end board meetings

Your skills and experiences:

  • ACA / ACCA / CIMA – (preferably fully qualified)
  • Experience of Statutory Account preparation
  • Proficient Excel skills, experience/exposure to Caseware is desirable
  • Exposure to above listed responsibilities (desirable)

The Shared Services Financial Accounting team:

As part of Shared Services, the Financial Accounting team provide a number of finance activities to business units across BAE Systems. You will be joining a sub team of 8 who currently prepare around 60 sets of accounts for all the major areas of BAE covering a diverse range of products and entity size. The team further support the group tax function by analysing data and preparing data packs for group tax to prepare the tax calculations. In addition to this we also prepare P11ds and carry out initial PSA analysis.

The Financial Accounting team is part of a large Finance function within BAE Systems with many opportunities for progression.
