Job Title: Finance Manager Project Accounting

Salary: circa £55,000 depending on experience

What you’ll be doing:

  • Establishing and developing a customer focused Project Accounting Capability Centre to provide best-in-class financial planning, analysis, and insights for all FCAS projects to drive growth and superior performance
  • Driving the implementation of common and consistent processes and a culture of excellence and “right first time”
  • Collaborating with other Project Accounting Capability Centre teams across BAE Systems to establish consistent operating models
  • Driving a data focused and digital culture whilst supporting the implementation of digital project management, reporting and financial toolsets within FCAS. Advocating the use of dashboards to provide insights and performance. Driving ownership of data, focusing on “right at source”, to prevent manual corrections /duplication of data
  • Supporting, developing and coaching a team of circa 9 people, ensuring collaborative working relationships with stakeholders

Your skills and experiences:

Essential:

  • Qualified Accountant CIMA/ACCA/ACA
  • Well-developed evaluation skills, good ability to drive insights and influence performance through data analysis
  • Proven experience of supporting a team
  • Practical experience of working in key business processes, supported by good experience in end-to-end process optimisation

Desirable:

  • Good knowledge and experience of ERPs and supporting business systems (e.g., Infor LN, IBM Planning and Cognos Analytics) and implementing new systems and toolsets
  • Detailed knowledge of accounting and business processes and frameworks

The Project Accounting Capability Centre team:

This is a newly created role merging three teams into a single cohesive business facing capability centre. You will collaborate with internal stakeholders, including business partners and contract delivery teams. As the leader of this team, you will be invited to be a member of the FCAS Finance Leadership Team working with a well-respected team of individuals and given the opportunity to lead on initiatives to further develop the future of our function.
