Salary: Up to £46,000 dependant on skills and experience

What you’ll be doing:

  • Participate fully in developing, maintaining and modifying engineering processes and procedures in assigned areas in response to technical developments and operational need.
  • Carry out relatively complex technical analyses and investigations, including evaluation and selection of technical options, and prepare reports with suggested recommendations to support the resolution of problems and the improvement of engineering capability.
  • Be familiar with the design of Fixed Firefighting systems and practiced in delivering solutions, meet the customers requirements in all phases of the ship build cycle.
  • Perform analyses of engineering issues and possess the ability to recommend solutions.
  • Undertake integration into the ship design of equipment associated with the following Fixed Firefighting systems: Gaseous systems, Foam and Water System, Fog and Spray Systems, Flood Systems and Fire Protection Networks
  • Influence the overall design solution by understanding the transversal factors that Fixed Firefighting systems have on complex warship design, such as underwater radiated noise, shock, survivability, operability, reliability.

Your skills and experiences:

Essential:

  • Experience as a Mechanical Engineer within Firefighting design for Commercial/Naval ships environment
  • Naval or Oil & Gas background is essential
  • Minimum IEng/Degree

Desirable:

  • Experience in more complex projects
  • Project Management Experience

The Hunter Class Frigate Auxiliary team:

The team will be involved in a breath of engineering tasks supporting the maturation of system level design, and export of that design to Australia. This role offers the opportunity to work on a complex & cutting-edge engineering design project, interfacing with an array of stakeholders offering exposure to niche areas of engineering. There is also potential to undertake local and international travel.
