Job Title: Capability Development Engineer (Materials )

Salary: Up to £70,385 dependent on skills and experience

What you’ll be doing:

  • Evolving and developing engineering capability to digital threads though engineer life cycle.

  • Working along design and structures, designing process toolsets, process documentation and governance framework.

  • The development, testing and deployment of Tools, Methods and Processes to enable improved creation, analysis, management, governance, interoperability and integration of Engineering data that support improved quality, cost and schedule performance.

  • Multidisciplinary working with all the Engineering Disciplines and adjacent Functions.

  • Liaising with the lines of business deployed engineers, IT Infrastructure support and business capability projects to optimise the delivery of Engineering capability.

  • Identify opportunities for development digital standards, and digital implementation.

Your skills and experiences:


  • Extensive experience in a Materials engineering role.

  • Experience of Design Lifecyle and associated materials aspects.

  • Knowledge of relevant aerospace engineering standards


  • Knowledge of design lifecycle cross-discipline interactions.

  • Experience of complex product definition toolsets

The Military Air and Information team:

You will be a part of the Engineering Function as part of the Air Sector This role will lead and support the development and evolution of the airframe capabilities for future and exisiting programmes within the air sector.

This is a new role within the team, created to expand the boundaries of our engineer discipline and deliver our customers future needs.
