Job title: Software Integration Engineer

Location: New Malden, this role involves working onsite however we can offer compressed hours

Salary: Up to £41,000 dependent on skills and experience

What you’ll be doing:

    Production of Software Builds & Installation Images

      Support Software Deliveries (Engineering Releases & Formal Releases)

        Support Target Hardware including installation of new builds & Operating environments

          Support planning & coordination of target testing

            Investigation of System wide issues including raising of observation reports for defects, when appropriate

              Support Desktop Development Environment including:

                Investigate defects as required and support defect clearance release acceptance process

                Your skills and experiences:

                  Ability to operate in a large, complex multi-project environment

                    Familiar with Windows Operating System (Client & Server) functionality and virtualisation technologies

                      Ability to methodically investigate a symptom to understand and isolate the root cause

                        Ability to quickly understand how areas of a complex system work

                          Able to apply past experience to support the understanding and investigation of new issues

                            Substantial experience of integrating software-intensive, complex real-time systems

                              Experience of interacting with engineers across multiple disciplines e.g. hardware, software & systems

                                Experience of delivering systems, working to deadlines and working in a pressurised environment

                                The Submarine Combat System team:

                                The Submarine Combat System (SMCS) system provides situation awareness and Weapons Management capability for all Submarines in the Royal Navy flotilla including the existing Trafalgar, Astute and Vanguard Class of submarines and future platform class Dreadnought. The project portfolio is valued in millions and comprises programmes spanning all stages of the lifecycle from bidding through development, in-service support and disposal. The SMCS projects deliver to a number of customers within Industry and the MoD.
