We’re changing up Britain and we’re changing up the workplace with better rewards, more opportunities to grow and the chance to make a difference to communities across the UK.
A rewarding career
We’re passionate about our work and we’re passionate about our people too. With a salary of up to £45,000 depending on experience, when you join the CityFibre family you’ll also enjoy benefits like 25 days’ holiday, a day off on your birthday, a day off to support a charity or organisation of your choice, performance-related bonus scheme, and private healthcare.
How can you change it up?
As an application developer, you’ll be working on one of our development squads. You will primarily be working on features to add value to systems used across the business, working alongside the product owner, scrum master, QA and other developers in the squad to understand what the business challenges are and how to solve them. They'll be opportunities for training across multiple areas and technologies to keep you up to date in an exciting environment.
Some of what you’ll be doing will include:
- Reviewing and analysing new software requirements and existing software shortcomings
- Creatively designing solutions to identified problems and new requirements
- Working closely with the team to provide guidance and expertise to tailor solutions before implementation
- Documenting software solutions to increase the transparency and clarity within the team
- Thoroughly implementing tests alongside software to limit the amount of future code breakage
What will you bring to the role?
It’s important that you have significant experience with PHP or Python. You'll also have experience with Event-Driven Architecture or Microservices. It will be beneficial if you are familiar with Test Driven Development.
Working in an Agile framework, you’ll need to be highly motivated and have a clear drive for delivery. We are looking for a candidate who can showcase excellent organisation, problem-solving, communication and analytical skills.
