Purpose of Role:

  • The role is responsible for providing cost control and accounting support to the Logistics & Materials functions within Supply Chain. Maintain cost tracking data, manage cost allocations, provide monthly reporting updates and administer detailed budgets/forecasts.

Critical Responsibilities:

  • Ensuring that all activities are carried out in a safe manner complying with all regulatory requirements, legislation and Harbour Energy HSES Procedures

Ethics and Compliance Responsibilities:

  • Ensure that all activities and behaviours are carried out in accordance with Harbour Energy’s Ethics and Compliance Policies and Procedures, and to complete any compulsory compliance training as required

Areas of Accountability, Responsibility and Competence:

  • Works with Logistics & Materials teams to prepare business plans, Value of Work Done, and forecasts
  • Tracks commitments and invoices against activities
  • Advises on coding for Logistics & Materials Purchase Requisitions and ensures all invoices booked and allocated correctly
  • Prepare and book Logistics & Materials transactions and accruals
  • Responsible for the creation and maintenance of allocation cycles
  • Prepare and issue monthly Logistics reports with detailed variance analysis
  • Prepare balance sheet reconciliations
  • Support joint and multi venture audits
  • Provide ad-hoc cost analysis and management presentations as required

Critical Skills, Qualifications, Experience, etc.:

  • Degree and part or qualified accountant of recognised body ACA, CIMA, ACCA or equivalent with appropriate industry experience
  • Good knowledge of upstream oil and gas G&A accounting
  • Excellent experience with proven track record
  • Strong analytical skills
  • Strong understanding of cost management including Value of Work Done and forecasts
  • Experience of Finance systems
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and adept at interacting with individuals at all levels in the organisation
  • Focus on service delivery to business and functions
  • Ability to deliver high quality work by deadlines and work effectively under time pressure
  • Ability to work on own initiative, proactively drive change, take responsibility and manage tasks through to completion
