About Client Solutions

The principle aim of the Scalable Solutions team within Client Solutions is to be responsible for the functional and implementation design of standard propositions that support the accelerated and confident take-on of new clients and support existing clients. A key success factor is to successfully meet client’s functional and non functional expectations through high quality solution designs. These should meet the needs of clients for each proposition, be quickly implemented and are supportable within the relevant commercial model. This will require excellent teamwork to harness and leverage the breadth of Iress capabilities.

The Role

As a Client Solutions Design Consultant, you will work collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders to establish the most appropriate solution designs to meet and exceed our clients needs. You will lead, shape and manage the expectations of our clients through design discussions, provide robust challenges to optimise the solution and translate their needs into a solution oriented vision that can be implemented successfully. Through your detailed, functional knowledge and client solution experience you will achieve the best possible outcome for our stakeholders.


You will quickly develop and foster strong client relationships to identify and shape client requirements. You will be creative, using your design experience, user story mapping and iterative techniques to evolve and propose solution designs that deliver mutual value and meet requirements.

Your objectives and responsibilities will focus on…

  • Working closely with Commercial teams to evaluate where client expectations and needs are anticipated to extend beyond single product solutions

  • Supporting sales teams/account managers by providing expert contributions to confirm indicative ability to meet client expectations and support product demonstrations

  • In line with Client Solution Ways of Working, use design, user story mapping and iterative techniques to evolve and propose solution designs that deliver mutual value and meet client requirements and expectations

  • Ensure designs are consistent/replicable and based on existing capabilities (products and integration) and best-practice wherever possible

  • You will ensure that all agreed solution discovery and design artefacts are produced

  • Ensuring the team is able to make the right prioritisation decisions by ensuring dependencies, risks and links are well understood

  • Maintaining knowledge of Iress products and development roadmap to inform potential options and strategies for meeting client requirements without additional development

  • Documenting and confirming scope and outputs of the project, put necessary controls in place to ensure implementation teams are able to translate your solution design into reality

  • Analysing requirements and configuring prototypes where required to assist clients in understanding the optimum solution, internally, for existing clients or as part of pre-sales

To be successful in this role you will…

Have excellent communication and relationship building skills, with the ability to build confidence, gain buy-in and achieve consensus with internal and external audiences. You will have strong knowledge across products and be able to quickly identify and understand the commercial priorities. You will have an understanding of Investments, Portfolios and Asset Management within the financial services sector. You will be a confident decision maker with a pro-active approach to problem solving. You will have strong attention to detail able to critically evaluate information gathered across multiple sources. You will be comfortable working under pressure across tight timescales in a challenging dynamic environment.
