Role Purpose

As a Privacy Adviser, you will work closely with a variety of teams across our global business, supporting and guiding them through certain business changes, new processes or the onboarding of new suppliers which could impact or affect personal data. You'll be working hand in hand with both our Legal and InfoSec teams to ensure records and processes are maintained to protect data integrity within Iress.

Your objectives and responsibilities will focus on...

  • Partnering with a variety of stakeholders across the business, providing support and guidance around anything privacy related and acting as an SME in this area

  • Coordinating regular reviews of the Record of Processing and providing guidance and support to the business in completing this

  • Ensuring appropriate steps are taken in response to third party engagements (e.g. new suppliers to go through appropriate DPIA where required, update Authorised Processors list, maintaining details of suppliers involved in the processing of personal data)

  • Maintenance of Iress’ privacy policies and other documents on the privacy area of the website

  • Working with the business to complete data privacy impact assessments, maintaining a repository for these assessments and responsibility for ensuring all mitigating actions are completed

  • Recording any data incidents that arise, and where they are non-security breaches, managing that incident - including any notifications and further actions required as a result

  • Conducting appropriate training on privacy related processes - e.g. DPIA, breach reporting

  • Assisting with responding to privacy related questions in client assurance questionnaires and RFP’s

  • Working closely with the legal team and the information security team as required

  • Excellent knowledge and understanding of data protection laws, guidance and practice

  • Pro-active and commercial approach to providing practical solutions

  • Willingness to develop a sound understanding of Iress solutions, services, operations and infrastructure

  • Ability to balance and prioritise own workload and work independently

  • Displaying a team ethos but with ability to work without supervision when required

  • Flexible, personable and pragmatic approach

  • Good interpersonal skills with ability to build strong working relationship with key stakeholders at all levels of the business and with external stakeholders
