Role Purpose

As a Business Development Consultant at Iress, you will be actively involved in helping to drive new revenue growth for our sales teams, working closely with Business Development Managers to source new sales opportunities. You'll take the lead in contacting prospective and existing customers via phone and email to arrange sales demonstrations and meetings for our Business Development Managers, quickly building relationships and engaging with clients and selling the benefits of Iress' products and solutions.

You’ll use a variety of means to source new sales opportunities (meetings and calls) through proactive LinkedIn messages, emails and cold calls and inbound lead follow-up, as well as identifying cross-sale product opportunities from the suite of Iress software. Understanding client needs and requirements depending on industry and business streams will be an integral part of your role and you’ll be comfortable using our CRM system to accurately record your sales activity.

Researching, mapping and qualifying accounts, identifying key players and generating interest will fall under your remit and you’ll use your strong communication skills to quickly build rapport with prospective clients over the phone, email and occasionally in person at relevant industry networking events.

Your objectives and responsibilities will focus on...

  • To contact potential customers to arrange sales presentations of Iress’ software and services to individuals and groups.

  • To ensure all sales activity and customer information is accurately recorded in the CRM system in a timely manner.

  • To follow-up any sales leads to maximise sales opportunities.

  • To answer queries and assist potential customers prior to sale.

  • Efficient diary planning for the Business Development Managers, including gap filling, in respect of sales presentation appointments booked.

To be successful in this role you will…

Excellent communication skills are essential to the success of this role and you’ll be comfortable engaging with both internal and external stakeholders at all levels. A passion and enthusiasm for sales is key and you’ll be naturally driven and motivated to succeed, with a determined and tenacious attitude. Some experience or understanding of financial services would be beneficial but not essential but you must be used to working under pressure and delivering against sales targets and KPI’s, ensuring that excellent service is delivered at all times.
