What you’ll be doing
You will be working on a variety of tasks that include building Java microservices and deploying them into a cloud environment. As a senior Java Cloud developer you will be providing guidance and recommendations to other teams within our group on the design and implementation of application systems in a cloud environment. Our team is using cloud's cutting edge technologies and you will be provided with opportunities to extend you knowledge and experience in this area.
This role requires a wide variety of strengths and capabilities, including:
- BS/BA degree or equivalent experience
- Strong experience in Spring, Spring Boot
- Strong experience in building Microservices and solid understanding of Microservices design patterns
- Strong understanding of REST Services
- Solid experience with Cloud Computing (AWS) and DevOps tools (Terraform, CI/CD)
- Experience with Kubernetes and Docker
- Experience with streaming messaging systems and patterns, including experience with Kafka
- Ability to work in large, collaborative teams to achieve organizational goals
- Passionate about building an innovative culture
- Knowledge of industry-wide technology trends and best practices
- Understanding of software skills such as business analysis, development, maintenance, and software improvement
Additional skills
- Understanding of Domain-Driven Design principles
- Understanding of architectural patterns and styles, for example Event Driven Architecture, Service Mesh
- Experience with Service Mesh implementations, for example Istio
- Experience with functional programming and ability to apply it to during decomposition of business requirements
- Experience with Relational, NoSQL and NewSQL databases. E.g Oracle, Cassandra, AWS Aurora (PostgreSQL or MySQL)
