This is an exciting opportunity to join a talented team of engineers in Glasgow and play a leading role in the development of strategic software products and services that are used globally across Asset Management (AM) and are critical to business operations. We are looking for a data orientated technologist who will be responsible for developing and managing solutions to enable our business to be data driven. Essential to our success is the demand to identify new and innovative ways to access and present our data, accessing relational and non-relational data sources. The successful candidate will play a significant role in driving the application data strategy as we leverage internal and AWS cloud solutions.

Job Description:

We are looking for someone who would

1) Be a key contributor to our dynamic Agile team in Glasgow

2) Deliver innovative technology solutions partnering with the Asset Management Client Service Product Owners and business through the delivery of solutions to present data in an intuitive way

3 ) Have an opportunity to work on modernizing and transforming our Products to be cloud based services

4) Support the migration of our on-prem ETL applications to modern, cloud based solution

5) Drive the evolution of our data solutions using modern data engineering technologies (Python, AWS, Denodo)

Requirements:

This role requires someone who can embrace change, adopt new ways of working and learn new skills. Experience in the following key areas will enable success in this role.

1) Understanding of end-to-end data solutions from the extraction, transformation to the loading and reporting of data. Demonstratable experience exploiting data to support data driven decision making through the utilization of BI tools is a big plus (Qlik Sense, Business Objects etc).

2) Database experience covering relational and non relational (i.e. JSON, Rest APIs) sources

3) Knowledge of Python within ETL type environment. Experience migrating ETL on-premise solutions such as Informatica to AWS type ETL solutions

5) A desire to innovate, collaborate and learn

6) Strong grasp of modern software development lifecycle practices and principles

7) Experience of scripting and Job Scheduling Technologies such as Autosys/Control-M
