Rates technology team is responsible for the development and support of JPMorgan's new strategic trading and risk management platform, Athena for Interest Rates Trading businesses - Transaction Workflows, Position Management, Risk, PnL and Analytics.
Strats Role Description
This is a role within the Rates Athena Risk Strats team - a global team of experienced Strats and Financial Engineering Developers who work in the specialized area of Risk & PnL for Interest Rates Trading businesses in Athena - Athena is the cross-asset trading and risk management platform being developed at JP Morgan in python. It delivers innovative and efficient applications to a wide range of the firm's businesses, including sales, trading, operations, risk and research. Athena combines the best of open source technologies with innovative components developed internally.
In this role, you will be working at the heart of the project that's responsible for developing / scaling up the next generation Risk & PnL (Profit and Loss) technology tools to provide best in class risk analytics to Rates Trading businesses. So, we are looking for a keen problem-solver who is confident at context-switching in a fast paced environment, is able to innovate swiftly and is able to re-prioritize tasks when needed. You'll also get to work on onboarding the technology stack to AWS (Amazon) cloud for elastic compute of Risk & PnL. You will have the opportunity to learn API, Database and UI development practices using a wide range of Athena technologies. You will be faced with challenges such as optimizing distributed compute where you will get to apply Machine Learning techniques to identify optimal compute paths.
