Proposal Manager – Global Payments Proposal & Solutions Group – Associate (Based in Bank Street London, UK)

JOB DESCRIPTION

J.P. Morgan Payments combines our Treasury Services, Trade, Commercial Card and Merchant Services capabilities to pay anyone, in any currency, anywhere in the world.
The Global Payments Proposal & Solutions Group within J.P. Morgan Payments supports multiple teams within the Banks, NBFI and Corporate Segments including GCB (U.S. and European headquartered multinational clients), Commercial Banking as well as Trade & Working Capital (Traditional Trade and Supply Trade Finance [SCF]).

Position:

This role is for a proposal manager in the Global Proposal Team in the EMEA region to support Treasury Services, Trade & Working Capital, and Merchant Services sales activity by generating customised, compelling and persuasive sales proposals in response to RFP/RFI or proactive requests from prospective and existing clients. Proposal managers are responsible for the lifecycle of each proposal document, from creation, through development to final version.

The role will include:

  • Project managing and controlling the RFP process end-to-end. Partnering with sales managers, subject matter experts, senior management/stakeholders as well as other proposal team members where applicable, to collaborate in the writing and customisation and delivery of our sales proposals
  • Developing an understanding of the proposed solution to complete projects and customise responses
  • Populating the initial and subsequent drafts using our global repository and ensuring responsiveness to all the client's/prospect's stated requirements/questions
  • Preparing, maintaining and managing the proposal project matrix outlining all deliverables and milestones, seeking and coordinating timely input from relevant subject matter experts and escalating any issues to the regional manager
  • Conducting regular review meetings to ensure adherence to action items and target dates by all members of the deal team
  • Ensuring that proposals submitted are of a high quality, correctly reflect J.P. Morgan products and services, incorporating all information into a professional and competitive proposal adhering to Global Proposal team brand and style guide
  • Coordinating with subject matter experts and the knowledge manager to update the global repository as responses are created, developed and enhanced
  • Participating and leading internal initiatives to promote best practices and process improvement

Training:

Attend meetings and appropriate bank training as required to continue development and to enhance knowledge of cash management, trade and merchant services products globally.

Performance measurement criteria:

Performance measurement based on pre-agreed objectives, feedback from stakeholders and overall team success.

Experience and Skills:

To qualify, candidates must have a combination of skills and experience that include:

  • Ability to work in a team environment
  • Strong verbal communication skills
  • High attention to detail and customisation
  • Excellent English writing skills
  • Project management and organisational skills
  • Excellent desktop publishing skills, including a strong working knowledge of Word, Excel and other MS-Office applications.
  • Experience in Proposal writing an advantage
