Description of Business Area:

The FORCAST team is established to improve the Firm’s responsiveness to global regulatory requests and enhance the operational risk governance in JPMC International Legal Entities (LEs). The team has responsibility for measurement of operational risk through running Operational Risk Scenarios internationally. The outputs of the scenario analysis process are used for both regulatory purposes (capital and stress testing within ICAAPs and ICARA) and risk management.

FORCAST is part of Compliance, Conduct and Operational Risk (CCOR), within the Risk Management and Compliance organization. CCOR maintains oversight of the firm’s compliance, conduct and operational risk management activities and are responsible for the design and execution of the CCOR program, which consists of the second line of defense’s responsibilities in managing the firm’s compliance, conduct, and operational risk.

Objectives / Deliverables for the role:

The role provides exposure across multiple jurisdictions, focusing mainly on those in EMEA, but with interaction with both APAC and Americas. Key responsibilities are as follows:

Operational Risk Scenario Analysis Framework encompasses.

  • Preparation of materials for running of operational risk workshops
  • Identifying and sourcing relevant historical legal entity business data to support the scenario analysis process
  • Analyzing the inputs for the workshops and developing benchmarking across legal entities
  • Building and presenting scenario outputs to a range of subject matter experts, to reach consensus and agreement.
  • Execution of scenario analysis for international legal entities by collecting relevant internal and external data, managing specific scenario user tools, producing quantification results, and performing benchmark and variance analysis.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with stakeholders to facilitate open information channels and to leverage existing initiatives.

Operational Risk Language Regulatory Submissions & Metrics: Executing upon regulatory deliverables supporting ICAAPs and ICARAs to provide operational risk language on various regulatory materials.

Thematic reviews: Completing ad-hoc reviews of operational risk loss data and risk categorization for input into the Legal Entity Scenario Analysis framework. Presentation of the outputs of analysis will be required to the senior management team.


  • Solid operational risk experience required with scenario analysis expertise preferred.
  • Strong strategic or project management experience with relevant business, technical or risk/control skills gained in an international financial services firm.
  • Strong analytical skills, detail-oriented and experience with data management.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with stakeholders across all levels of organization.
  • Excellent communication and strong influencing skills (written and verbal) with ability to challenge the status quo, gain consensus and drive change.
