Within CTC Data Assurance, the Data Privacy and Classification team has a firm wide remit to deliver Data Classification transformation and a strategic capability for the Privacy Compliance lifecycle.

Program Description: CTC Data Assurance’s mission is to establish data as an appropriately governed asset for JPMC stakeholders through the identification and assessment of data risk and by driving the maintenance of and modifications to the overall control framework. Data Lineage is an advanced knowledge management capability, for data storage, processing, and movement. Multiple requirements exist both internally and externally to demonstrate data provenance, control and quality. By harnessing these requirements, CTC Data Assurance may uplift and demonstrate the value of Data as a governed asset.

Role Description: As the Data Lineage lead, you will become a key member of JPMorgan Chase’s Data Assurance team which is part of the Cybersecurity & Technology Control (CTC) organization. Within Data Assurance you will be responsible for building strong partnerships with key stakeholders, such as our senior leaders in the Chief Data Officer (CDO) organization and partners in Technology. This lead role will work with these stakeholders to examine the current state business needs for Data Lineage, implement a central service, facilitate adoption across the firm and establish an ongoing governance model. The incumbent will surface and assess the top business drivers for Data Lineage, lead the CDO community through a risk based prioritisation of use cases and partner to develop a service, Standard, and/or controls to improve our data risk environment.

Role Reporting Line: CTC Data Assurance lead for Data Classification, Privacy and Localisation

Role Responsibilities: Foundations

Foundational to the role is an understanding of how Data Lineage is valuable to JPMC. This involves building up knowledge and documentation of Enterprise-wide use cases, collaborating with Architects and other metadata and infrastructure subject matter experts to agree Data Lineage designs and agreeing how the use case details align across Data Risk and Control. Key outputs include

        • Engagement with accountable stakeholders
        • Understanding of the current state data management steps to meet requirements, including use of Data Lineage or other existing capabilities
        • Agreement and documentation of current pain points or opportunities for uplift
        • Assessment, agreement and documentation of how the use cases and current state aligns with Data Control and Risk standards and capabilities.
        • Agreement and documentation of foundational terminology, concepts and their definitions, so that Lineage business drivers can be embedded across CTC Data Assurance programming.
        • Agreement and documentation of Data Assurance Lineage Service requirements to be adopted across LOB/CFs

Solution Delivery

  • Partner with Data Assurance Governance Risk and Controls team to explore potential enhancements to Standards and Controls
  • Develop ongoing governance model to support decisions on Lineage Services
  • Develop a cost benefit assessment model enabling senior CDOs to understand and agree on foundational requirements being set from the centre
  • Secure sponsorship and funding to enable delivery of agreed enhancements via CTC Data Assurance programming
  • Determine and agree Enterprise level roadmap(s) as needed for Use Case(s), so that embedding Data Lineage use case outcomes is trackable and benefits realisation can be articulated.
  • Partner with Product teams and Data Risk and Control leads on the delivery of features supporting selected Enterprise level Use cases
  • Build and maintain knowledge and community management across key stakeholders, by leveraging both existing and if required additional meetings and content collaboration products

Role Qualifications:

  • Outstanding analytical, written, and verbal communication skills; ability to articulate complex ideas, concepts, and solutions at the senior management level
  • Extensive and proven track record in stakeholder management at all levels
  • Sound knowledge of Financial Services firms
  • Broad Program Management experience, demonstrating strategic thinking and value delivery
  • Ability to apply critical thinking and logical / structured framework to shape the program’s approach
  • Ability to understand business drivers and cost benefit assessment and to align program delivery accordingly
  • Ability to synthesize feedback to drive practical solutions to complex problems
  • Demonstrable success in delivery of change/new processes in a complex business and technology environment
  • Knowledge and preferably experience of agile delivery techniques
  • Strong interest and preferably experience in Data as a Governed Asset
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Engineering or Information Systems
