About the Payments & Commerce Partnerships Team

We are a critical partnerships team within J.P. Morgan Payments business with a track record for identifying and developing deep commercial partnerships, delivering innovation new solutions to the market, making strategic investments in high growth FinTechs as well as managing relationships with established network brands such as Visa and MasterCard. We are entrepreneurs. We are product and business developers with a penchant for action and commercialization and a passion for solving client challenges and adopting new technologies.

What we build and expand through partnerships matters and has a huge impact; our products and solutions reach thousands of business clients around the world, and affects how J.P. Morgan does business, moving trillions of dollars a day (25% of all $ movement globally). Our group partners with emerging and established FinTech, card network and payments players globally to accelerate the development of new payments and commerce solutions.

  • Identify and pursue new opportunities (products, services, capabilities) to differentiate J.P. Morgan and accelerate the growth of our Payments & Commerce clients
  • Define and champion business cases, value propositions and product requirements for new concepts with a razor-sharp focus on solving client needs
  • Negotiate mutually beneficial commercial agreements with external partners to align interests and ensure broad client adoption
  • Partner closely with the Fintech & Venture Capital community to identify potential partners
  • Lead multidisciplinary teams (including Product, Sales, Technology, Strategic Investments) to design and commercialize new product partnerships, including minority investments
  • Manage regional relationships with the card networks including Visa and MasterCard to expand product offerings across the firm
  • Develop external thought leadership materials to demonstrate the client relevancy of commercial partnerships
  • Manage a team of Payments & Commerce professionals and ensure alignment of priorities Sales and Product teams (globally and in-region)
  • Transform how we experiment and engage with clients on emerging solutions
  • Develop and execute a roadmap/methodology for the launch and commercialization of successful product partnerships

Professional experiences that will set you apart

  • Successful track record of designing, launching and commercializing new payment solutions with partners
  • Deep knowledge of the payments, card networks and commerce ecosystem and significant experience delivering products/services to the corporate client segment,
  • Significant experience in senior Product, Business Development or Partnerships roles in relevant areas of financial services (Merchant Services, Cross-border and domestic payments, Receivables, Commercial Cards, FX, Treasury Services/Transaction Banking)
  • 5 years direct experience or strong understanding of executing minority/strategic investments in private companies.
  • Success with commercializing new payments solutions to middle market and enterprise clients
  • Experience leading an Innovation, Business Development or Partnership team within a large organization. Work at a start-up a plus
  • Deep understanding of the EMEA region as it relates to payments services from traditional banks, card network and FinTechs
  • Knowledge of emerging technologies as well as exposure to design-based thinking
