Job Description

Client Account Services (CAS) Team opens and maintains accounts reference data for CIB clients. The team is comprised of three main functions – New Client Onboarding, Service Delivery, and Governance and Controls. Core activities include direct client engagement to deliver client experience, processing of account and party reference data, facilitating account setup processes across the supporting ecosystem, managing large new business initiatives and partnering with the businesses to ensure seamless delivery.

Investment Middle Office Services (IMOS) is a Securities Services Product for Investment Management firms. It provides a comprehensive, scalable, end to end Investment Operations Service, from Instruction Capture to investment data distribution and visualisation, enabling institutional Investment Management firms to outsource their investment operations activities to J.P. Morgan

Role Description

CAS IMOS manages the initial setup and ongoing maintenance of client account data across multiple products including Custody and Fund Services, Derivatives, Equities, Fixed Income, FX, etc. This role will lead a team to develop and manage the current governance, controls and change management processes within the team and to maintain a strong and consistent control environment. You will partner with other functions such as Operations Control Management, other Operations Service Delivery teams, Finance and Technology to deliver and maintain a strategic governance, change and controls framework that it is robust, scalable and compliant with the firm’s operational risk standards.

The role reports to the Client Accounts Services Global Domain lead for IMOS Services.

Key responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Maintain and enhance controls framework; ensure execution is compliant with SOPs; identify key risks in process, measure, track and take steps to mitigate.
  • Audit: Co-ordination of internal and external audits; ensure the team is always audit ready
  • Governance: define and maintain key governance documentation (charters, minutes, org charts, etc.) and ensure globally consistent execution against these standards
  • Inter-affiliate Governance: Be accountable for oversight of activities offshored through effective forums, metrics and reporting; also, identical oversight for activities transferred out of region as part of follow the sun model
  • Being a trusted partner with the CAS IMOS teams and external stakeholders to ensure consistency, sustainability and the embedding of a strong controls mindset across the team
  • Change Management: management of the tech and non-tech change process for CAS IMOS; development of current framework
  • Management of technology investment strategy process
  • Oversight and management of team financials, headcount forecasts and development of cost to serve models

Skills/Experience

  • Experience working in operations transformation roles, controls or change
  • Have a professional and pro-active approach to escalation, prioritization and problem solving
  • Ability to work independently to identify tasks that need to be done and take ownership to get these delivered
  • Keen attention to detail and ability to analyse with appropriate questioning
  • Organisational, analytical, and problem resolution skills
  • Oral and written communication - ability to effectively coordinate and partner with stakeholders at all levels
  • Experience or knowledge in the following areas would be beneficial; Custody, Fund Accounting, Transfer Agency, Agency Collateral, Derivatives, FX, Securities Lending
