The CIB Global Regulatory Change and Controls (GRCC) team sits within CIB Markets Operations and has responsibility for providing oversight, leadership and management of regulatory reporting solutions and controls across the CIB Markets business. The team’s remit covers:

  • Monitoring relevant regulatory change and providing internal and external advocacy
  • Leading cross Markets line of business regulatory reporting change projects
  • Defining and delivering implementation of Regulatory Reporting solutions including regulatory interpretation, and design of controls and operating models
  • Leading the CIB’s strategic transformational regulatory reporting program
  • Deep dives of the Regulatory Reporting Control environment

The Role:

This Business Analyst BA / Project Management (PM) role is based in London/Bournemouth and is aligned to EMEA CIB Markets reporting implementation focussing on upcoming European and UK regulatory reporting initiatives impacting EMIR reporting requirements.

You will be involved in business analysis of regulatory rules and industry guidance, as well as project managing key workstreams within the program.

You will have, and have opportunity to develop, strong delivery and analytical skills, the ability to break down complex issues to provide solutions, and excellent communicating skills. You will be called upon to address high-profile, high-impact, cross line of business regulatory demands and at times prepare and present information on regulations, their impact and status of delivery to a senior audience (ED and above).

You will have engagement and visibility across the CIB DPS organization with extensive cross functional and cross business exposure, and the opportunity to creatively problem solve on a broad scale.

You will work with our business stakeholders to perform deep-dive analysis of their businesses, drive consensus for solutions, and coordinate with our technology partners to deliver the solutions. You will partner extensively with the lines of business, legal, compliance, audit, technology and corporate operational risk. The candidate should be able to work independently but as part of the wider team.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop detailed understanding of relevant operational & architecture workflows, documentation of “as-is” versus target state models
  • Lead Business Analysis for upcoming EMIR Refit. This will require documenting BRDs , assisting with Spec-By-Example creations, facilitating data analysis (including reference data)
  • Project Manage key program workstreams. This will involve direct daily interaction with business, operations, technology, reporting SMEs to manage the information flow and delivery of key project milestones
  • Present project updates to GRCC Management, LOB Business Management and other stakeholder groups
  • Lead working group meetings, setting agendas, preparing meeting materials, documenting minutes and ensuring clear ownership of action items
  • Participate in various industry forums to drive the agenda and bringing the required knowledge back into the organisation for successful project delivery.
  • Partner effectively with technology to shape the target state architecture.
  • Formulate testing strategy across multiple Lines of business, coordinate, and drive User Acceptance Testing (UAT) of new implementations.
  • Assessing and recommending options to a problem statement, including opportunities to leverage strategic solutions, and identifying required controls and operating models when tactical solutions are demanded
  • Partner with controls team to assist in the definition of the control framework and operating models for all deliveries, ensuring alignment to our over-arching strategic principles
  • Partner with technology teams to review and hand over requirements applying agile methodologies

Key Experience and Skills

  • Experience working on regulatory deliveries within Markets operations and/or technology in the EMEA region
  • Project management competencies, including leadership, communication, time management, negotiation, team management, and critical thinking. Furthermore, the candidate must also be able to keep up with the project management trends and use the tools they have to their fullest
  • Demonstrable track record in delivering complex and challenging pieces of work to tight deadlines
  • Demonstrate strong influencing skills across multiple stakeholder group
  • A good understanding of the trade life-cycle and controls is essential
  • Ability to successfully operate across regions, businesses and functions with demonstrably strong communication, negotiation, influencing and relationship management skills
  • Proactive and creative problem solving with business process reengineering experience and tenacity to drive to root cause
  • Ability to interpret issues raised then prioritize and communicate to senior management and other key stakeholders regarding resolution plans and expectations, and understand impact of external factors such as regulatory change on business strategy
  • Ability to work both autonomously and flexibly, whilst also being a team player with the ability to build & maintain productive working relationships with colleagues at all levels and across functions in order to achieve results
  • Ability to deal with ambiguity and uncertainty; effective at working with multiple functions across regions and time differences
