The key responsibility of the role is to project manage the end-to-end delivery of key Fundamental Review of the Trading Book (FRTB) workstreams/projects. This will include:

  • Defining and agreeing the project governance structure including Working Groups, Project plan, Risk Assumptions Issues and Dependency trackers (RAIDs), Scorecards, senior management updates
  • Ensure relationship is maintained with teams across Risk, Finance, Front office and Technology to ensure delivery of cross-divisional projects
  • Taking business analyst approach to help aid and help progress implementation of FRTB within regulatory infrastructures.
  • For the projects or work streams you manage:
  • Ensuring that all project stakeholders are held accountable for the work and timeline agreed
  • Identifying potential risks or roadblocks and keeping senior stakeholders informed
  • Ensuring that issues are being tracked and prioritised for closure
  • Engaging relevant teams to drive closure of issues/risks and communicate dependencies
  • Providing regular updates to senior stakeholders through status updates and scorecards
  • Fast learner in market risk terminology, such as Value at Risk (VaR), sensitivities.

Technical Skills & Knowledge

  • Comprehensive working knowledge of FRTB and/or other Market Risk regulations
  • Strong project management skill set developed on projects operating within a Hybrid, Waterfall and Agile Project Life Cycle
  • Experience managing multiple work streams and/or priorities involving various functional teams
  • Exposure to Finance and Market Risk functions especially with regards to the role they play within Regulatory reporting
  • Knowledge of Finance business functions, processes, methodologies & technology platforms
  • Experience of building strong partnerships within project teams.
  • Axiom/Adenza taxonomy last mile reporting implementations

Experience

  • Proven project management skills & delivery track record on broad multi-functional projects within the banking industry.
  • Experience using Project management tools like Microsoft Project, PowerPoint, Visio, Confluence, Jira, SharePoint
  • Highly developed oral and written communication skills which can be used to prepare and present information to a variety of audiences
