We are looking for an experienced and engaged Digital Design Manager to join our in-house Creative Studio. In this role, you will be part of a multi-disciplinary team of designers, copywriters and developers working close with Marketing. You will be leading and creating design across various digital touch-points, taking projects from early concepts through to final design that engage our customers.

This role requires a deep understanding of digital marketing design across platforms and experience of people management. A solid understanding of brand, customer needs, technology and design is a must.

Responsibilities include:
  • Create digital design across channels that are aligned with brand and marketing design strategy
  • Collaborate with copy and stakeholders to create campaigns
  • Manage and mentor digital designers
  • Lead and create high-quality design work from conception through to production, adhering to brand guidelines in collaboration with relevant stakeholders
  • Identify opportunities to improve quality and coherency for our digital design deliverables
  • Lead design projects to create engaging digital assets for use across social, websites and email marketing
  • Collaborate with our retained advertising agency to translate their creative direction into digital design deliverables. Guide the digital output of the whole team on a brief-by-brief basis by building on agency learnings as well as the accumulated knowledge of our in-house Creative Studio
  • Effectively present and communicate conceptual ideas and design rationale both verbally and visually
  • Ensure high design quality and coherency that meets the brief and brand guidelines
  • Maintain strong working relationships with team members, external creative agencies and internal stakeholders to establish effective communication levels required to provide effective design advice and guidance
  • Ensure all designs meet the firm wide accessibility and inclusion standards
  • Maintain full awareness and understanding of appropriate legislation for relevant channels and ensure all activity is approved by Compliance and Legal team(s); ensure that all materials are consistent with legal conditions and code(s) of practice.

Requirements:

  • In-depth experience working in digital design lead roles like Digital Design Lead, Digital Design Manager or equivalent at in-house design studio, or creative agency
  • In-house/ client work experience is required
  • Strong portfolio demonstrating the application of digital design, brand and customer focus
  • Experience in brand, campaign, social, and digital campaign development
  • Evidence of developing and leading digital marketing direction
  • Experience of managing and mentoring team members
  • Great attention to detail and good project management processes
  • Able to respond quickly to urgent requests and prioritise in an agile way with all open projects
  • Knowledge of new and emerging technologies within the marketing landscape
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills
  • Actively listens, hears and understands what is said and not said, and with nuanced comprehension of meaning and intent
  • Develops and sustains effective and cooperative working relationships with peers, managers and other internal or external stakeholders
  • Flexibility/adaptability (ability to change direction based upon team and stakeholder consensus)
