The Fund Accounting VP will be responsible for managing a large team across multiple fund accounting products. This role will also involve significant project management skills and requires experience of on boarding and off boarding large fund accounting portfolios. The chosen candidate will be responsible for ensuring high standards of client service and timeliness. The candidate will also provide support to the head of the fund accounting operations department and will be involved closely in senior management forums and risk forums. The candidate will serve as an escalation point for any fund accounting issues and should demonstrate superior market, investment, and business knowledge ensuring quality of service whilst adhering to the strict deadlines. Candidates should also have proven experience on reduction of manual touchpoints and automation and have a track record of excellent managerial skills and people development, especially in the area of managing a large scale team.

Key Responsibilities:


  • The candidate should be competent in managing a delegated operating model.
  • The candidate should have a track record in complex off boarding/ on boarding of large fund accounting teams.
  • Ensure that production is appropriately planned and resourcing issues are addressed.
  • Strong understanding of Risk Management and should be able to manage the issues exceptions above materiality thresholds for resolution.
  • Manage and initiate re-engineering projects to continually improve efficiency while maintaining the service standards of the team.
  • Leading and participating in site wide initiatives.
  • Provide operations subject matter expertise and value added services to clients.

Control / Risk

  • Point of escalation for all production issues and reporting to senior management.
  • Escalation and resolution of issues in a timely manner.
  • Regularly review and ensure the team is operating within an appropriate control environment.
  • Ensure oversight functions are completed and evidenced accordingly.

Client / Service delivery

  • Establish effective working relationships with key client contacts.
  • Work closely with internal LOB’s on the implementation/remediation of new business and client change requirements/changes
  • Maintain a high standard of delivery timeliness and accuracy.
  • Follow JPMorgan's established processes and procedures; Look to modify / iterate processes and procedures to continually improve accuracy, reduce redundancy, and mitigate risk
  • Perform EOD process to ensure all deliverables were met timely and accurately and that exceptions are appropriately noted.


  • Proven track record in managing large teams.
  • Proven track record in people development, coaching and mentoring.
  • The candidate should be structured, organised and experienced in setting goals and priorities across large teams.
  • Assist team members in allocating appropriate training and coaching methods

Qualifications – External

  • Extensive experience in a Fund Accounting environment
  • Strong leadership skills within a large team environment with the ability to set high standards and focus the team on achieving & improving on them
  • Strong client management skills and ability to build key relationships
  • Experienced in dealing with clients & very senior management
  • Proven experience in and an understanding of distributed operating model and constituent parts
  • Extensive experience in off boarding/ on boarding complex work process
  • Ability to motivate and influence to improve service standards.
  • Ability to work under pressure and to tight deadlines
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Problem solving and initiative.
  • Experienced in working in a fast paced and demanding environment
  • Substantial experience of working within the financial services industry
  • Understanding of the financial markets, investment types and accounting and pricing policies essential

Ideally educated to degree level or equivalent in a related subject
