Delivering high-quality and timely solutions on the front to back platform requires strong business analysis, product knowledge, technical, and problem-solving skills. The ideal candidate will have solid experience in financial markets, subject matter expertise in securities or cash processing, and a proven track record in working on complex technology programs.

This specific role will be within a strategy and execution team tasked with driving large scale transformation. Within Securities Processing, we are moving away from legacy technology to an in-house global platform encompassing a Trade Booking layer, Settlement Engine capable of supporting all global markets, an Asset/Stock Record, an Asset Servicing solution & a strategic Data-Warehouse to support downstream requirements for reporting and analytics. Within Cash Processing, we are streamlining our payment and FX flows, balance keeping, and reporting solutions.

The successful candidate will work within the Securities and Cash Processing E2E team as a hands-on business analyst and solutions architect to drive the strategy, planning, design and delivery of new capabilities for the Securities Services business. They will have strong analysis skills and be able to drive large-scale technical solutions across the full application stack.

The ability to bridge the gap between business and technology is paramount in this role, to drive the business forward in their objectives.


Key Responsibilities

  • Partner with business product teams on the multi-year strategy for investment initiatives - this can be a one year out view (ahead of budget cycle) or a multiple year view at the start of long-dated programs of work
  • Impact assess business change initiatives to clarify applications and processes that require build and testing
  • Understand business requirements, perform detailed analysis, and produce associated functional specifications across multiple functions and applications
  • Define the cross-application architecture flow for transformation programs – both target state and interim steps where applicable
  • Own the E2E solution design across the front to back application stack. This will require the creation of design documents such as sequence diagrams, specs by example, etc. that traverse through a flow and clarify system functions and data.
  • Define and track the end-to-end build, testing, and implementation timeline across all applications
  • Project management oversight of deliverables & resources across many different technology teams across the front to back application stack
  • Conduct test driven analysis to investigate differences between new vs existing system processing
  • Assess ability to meet process SLAs across AD teams
  • Participation in large-scale “highly-visible” SIT/UAT testing cycles managing technology and business stakeholders
  • Train relevant teams prior to go-live of new business processes/products, functionality, or applications
  • Produce implementation approach, timelines, and go-live strategy
  • Go-live support, investigation of issues
  • Provide regular updates to senior management in Technology, Operations, or Securities Service Business Product organizations


Qualifications:

Essential skills

  • Strong background of understanding the end-to-end trade securities and cash processing lifecycle (including instruction capture, transaction processing, settlements, books and records accounting, asset servicing, regulatory requirements, and client reporting)
  • Ability to understand and clarify business requirements
  • Ability to construct and ratify cross application architecture and detailed solutions specifications
  • Strong project management skills: experience of full project life-cycle, including breaking requirements down into technical deliverables, estimating the work required, and building detailed project plans
  • Excellent written, verbal, and presentation skills
  • Confidence in communicating internally at all levels; candidate will be dealing with Product, Operations and Technology teams daily who are both business and technically sophisticated
  • Excellent analytical/problem-solving skills
  • Good judgement, risk assessment, and escalation skills
  • Proactive, self-motivated, and flexible with a positive attitude
  • Excellent teamwork
  • Strong time management: efficient at multi-tasking and able to work under pressure to deliver multiple business demands on-time, to a high-level standard
  • Experience in working with application development teams during build and implementation phases
  • Experience in writing UAT Test Plans and/or Test Scripts, together with managing the user testing phase of projects


Desirable skills

  • Sound understanding of technology stack within financial services industry.
  • Ability to contribute in an “Individual Contributor” capacity.
  • Experience in Custody products.


Education

  • Degree level education or equivalent
  • 10+ years of experience within similar industry area
