Equities OMS is a Front office application within the Corporate & Investment Bank shaping a high-profile and exciting new business for JP Morgan. From finance specialists to designers, engineers to product managers, the team work together throughout the end-to-end product development process, from strategy through to feature analysis and execution, to create solutions our customers need.

About the team
The Global Cash Equities Technology Group supports a well-established major business unit in JPMorgan Investment Bank. Our group is responsible for providing a true multi-asset Sales Order Management system for Equities that will cover cash, swaps, listed options and futures. The system will be used by multiple lines of business such as CASH Equities, Derivatives and Program Trading and will replace existing legacy platforms.

About the role

The Equities Execution Services Technology department is looking for a Java Server Applications Developer to cover the strategic Sales Order Management System with solid knowledge of distributed, event-driven systems and a drive to create cutting-edge software in a demanding, fast-paced environment.

Skills Required:

The ideal candidate will have experience including but not limited to;

  • Good hands on development experience in core Java, distributed software development, multi-threaded development
  • Responsible, delivery focused, Good working attitude and proactive
  • Good command over SQL queries and UNIX commands
  • Good understanding of Spring / Sybase / Test driven development / Agile methodology.
  • Write well designed, testable, efficient code, and design patterns.
  • Ensure designs are in compliance with specifications.
  • Support continuous improvement by investigating alternatives and technologies and presenting these for architectural review
  • Proactively improving processes, to ensure the quality of the deliverables and the efficiency of the team improves
  • The role will be based in London, and will entail both working closely with the London Business and our Global partners.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Participation in the design, build, implementation, testing and support of the core infrastructure using core Java technologies
  • Follow best practices like Agile methodologies, continuous integration and development, HA/DR capabilities.
  • Liaison with BA, product and business representatives to clarify new business requirements.
