As an Executive Director, you will lead the regional EMEA Trade Finance Credit Risk function covering a wide range of clients (banks & corporates) using the full suite of Trade & Working Capital Finance products. The role requires full & daily engagement with a variety of constituents including credit colleagues, sales, compliance, legal, operations etc. and reports into the Global Head of Trade Finance Credit Risk.

Job Summary and Responsibilities

  • Working as a team to negotiate and construct recommendations for new transaction approvals including product deviations assessment.
  • Ongoing proactive credit management of the regional trade portfolio including monitoring of exposure as well as suitability of products under the limit promptly engaging with counterparty credit colleagues to react to market events and client performances.
  • Review and approve credit facilities to be booked on Trade & Working Capital Balance Sheet as a voting member of the Regional Trade & Working Capital Committee.
  • Commitment to develop self and team. Managing, coaching & training more junior members of the team on both technical and professional skills.

Attributes, Qualifications & Experience

  • Credit experience required
  • Working knowledge of transaction structures, documentation and trade products sufficient to assist with (and lead when appropriate) the execution of new deals and amendments.
  • Good credit skills with sound judgment and a flexible approach to identifying risks.
  • Self- starter with successful experience in team management, proven leadership skills with a keen interest in motivating & developing others.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills. Be able to establish credibility and trust with internal business partners and other risk stakeholders at a senior level.
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work independently while also being able to work effectively in a team environment.
  • Highly motivated with a natural passion to learn and an inquisitive personality
  • Strong sense of accountability and ownership
  • Capable of understanding, describing, and debating complex concepts
