Are you a passionate experienced animator in video games? Come and join our team at King, on Bubble Witch 3 Saga! Bubble Witch 3 Saga, is one of the most exciting bubble shooter on the market. It’s in a phase of growth and rejuvenation right now, and joining the team will give you the opportunity to bring your creative animations and ideas to life.

YOUR ROLE WITHIN OUR KINGDOM

We are looking for an experienced animator to own and shape the motion style of one of our biggest franchises: Bubble Witch 3 Saga.

As Principal Animator you will have an overview of the game animations in order to revisit and improve them to update animation style and quality.

You will also produce animated content closely with other artists, game designers and developers as part of an experienced team for new and existing features.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for all animations/FX across Bubble Witch 3, ensuring they support the new art and bring life and fun to the game.

  • Identify opportunities where animation/FX can bring Bubble Witch 3 to a competitive level (taking into account the games priorities), proactively propose solutions to the team, and ensure these solutions are carried out to a high quality.

  • Create concept videos for new features and ideas, working closely with artists and designers.

  • Work closely with the art director and the leads team to define animation priorities and direction.

  • Take responsibility for up-skilling the art team to create simple animations and FX independently, through feedback, workshops and documentation.

  • Suggest ways we can improve the animation pipeline/tools and take ownership that it happens. Communicating with programmers and external teams e.g., Tech Art, engine team.

  • Support other teams by sharing your knowledge across King when needed. (e.g. Spine, Blender, Fiction Factory)

SKILLS TO CREATE THRILLS

  • A creative person with relevant experience working in the video game industry or similar.

  • Strong understanding of animation principles and understanding of how animation works within game mechanics and game legibility.

  • Relevant experience as an animator with a track record of creating appealing character and object animations with valuable experience in 2D programs like Spine.

  • Experience animating UI, understanding the importance of the motion style and the optimisation of timings.

  • Experience creating special effects and using particle tools.

  • Knowledge of technical constraints, optimisation and implementation.

  • Knowledge of building basic rigs.

  • Comfortable with cartoony, casual and mid-core styles.

  • Good communication and organisational skills.

  • Comfortable giving feedback and direction as well as mentoring others.

  • Proactive in learning and developing your skills.

  • It’s a plus to have some knowledge in 3D skills.

  • It’s a plus to have previous experience in Live Games.

A portfolio demonstrating all aspects of your skill is required.
