LV= General Insurance are recruiting for a Principal Pricing Analyst to join our Retail Motor Portfolio pricing team with a strong focus on optimisation. We looking for an individual who can demonstrate their knowledge of pricing optimisation and expect this to include experience with Willis Towers Watson’s Radar software. Ideally, you'll have used your skills to test different optimisation strategies for new business or renewals. Proficiency with coding languages such as SAS, SQL, Python or R is desirable.

About you

Communication is key in this role. We’re looking for someone with excellent communication and stakeholder management skills as you’ll be facing up to the wider business both in terms of reporting on the outcomes of existing performance against key targets and in the timely formulation and communication of new pricing approaches for agreement with senior level stakeholders that show off your commercial awareness and that you’re putting our customers at the heart of everything you do. Once agreed, we’d also expect you to play a vital role in deploying these strategies, including post implementation monitoring to ensure this has been successful.

As a part of your role, you’ll also have responsibility for at least one other analyst and would be expected to share your in-depth knowledge with the wider team, role modelling the LV=’s values.

Details

You will need to:

  • Make recommendations to senior pricing/commercial managers by defining project work to support product and pricing development,
  • Define and deliver analysis to the defined standards of pricing & analytical projects
  • validating data integrity, establishing appropriateness of actuarial or statistical modelling and assumptions
  • interpreting output and communicating results to non-technical audience
  • appropriately documenting project work for future reference or review
  • delivering project work to agreed business timescales
  • Deliver and promote improvements to the regular pricing rate reviews to ensure that each segment is appropriately priced.
  • Review and promote improvements to the regular pricing and underwriting monitors.
  • Coach and mentor junior colleagues to enable them to progress and contribute more.
  • Keep abreast of developments in the company and wider UK insurance market
