Who are Lloyds Banking Group and where does this role sit?

Lloyds Banking Group is the UK’s biggest Retail, Digital and Mobile bank with over 30 million customers and a big responsibility to help Britain Prosper.

We're looking to recruit a Java Full stack Developer, based on Springboot back end and ReactJS front end. Reporting into the Engineering Lead, the role entails designing and maintaining our web based solutions for reference data. Become part of our diverse team, and you'll experience a rare opportunity to make a real difference not only to our users, but to those supporting our systems!

Whilst Reference Data doesn't sound like the most exciting domain, the teams we interact with and the technology behind it is what makes our team buzz.

What will I focus on in this role?

The Technical Lead will be responsible for helping to develop the technical design of the new application suite, identify integration points into existing Commercial Banking systems and deliver a world class technical solution using modern technologies and tools. This is a hands on technical leadership role.

Specific activities which you’ll be responsible for include things like;

  • Capturing information from disparate sources, to understand and map that data with a view to repeated 'fast' recovery.

  • Understanding of how to address scope and design issues and how to progress these to resolution.

  • Knowing when to raise risks and issues, in a timely manner

  • Articulate those risks to both technical and non-technical colleagues.

What do we need to see from applicants?

  • Demonstrable experience in developing large scale, data driven applications with focus on the user experience.

  • Experience of technologies beyond Java and React,

  • Other technical experience including Hazelcast, Kafka and the almost ubiquitous Microsoft SQL, committed to self development and pushing our team to be the best it can!

  • On a personal level we would want to see a passion in all you do and have a dedicated commitment to learn and grow, you will be working in partnership with our team, business collaborators and peers from other teams.

  • Excellent people and communication skills, including the ability to influence and optimally connect with a wide variety of technical and non-technical staff.

What can I expect in Return?

We're dedicated to giving you opportunities and support to develop you both professionally and personally to optimise your potential!

As a new colleague to the team, you’ll join us on our journey to build a 21st century bank that reflects modern Britain and craft an inclusive culture where all colleagues feel encouraged and valued.

We're committed to building a workforce which reflects the diversity of the customers and communities we serve, and to building an inclusive environment where all our colleagues can be themselves and succeed on merit. We support the principles of agile working and equal opportunity and are happy to consider flexible working arrangements.

Together we’ll make it possible!

At Lloyds Banking Group, we're driven by a clear purpose; to help Britain recover. Across the Group, our colleagues are focused on making a difference to customers, businesses and communities. With us you'll have a key role to play in shaping the financial services of the future, whilst the scale and reach of our Group means you'll have many opportunities to learn, grow and develop.

We're focused on creating a values-led culture and are committed to building a workforce which reflects the diversity of the customers and communities we serve. Together we’re building a truly inclusive workplace where all of our colleagues have the opportunity to make a real difference.
