London (heavily remote role, with very occasional trips to the office, typically 1-2 per month)

You'll work within one of our 24*7 shift teams, working a pattern of 12 hour day and night shifts supporting our Retail Digital channel 365 days a year, ensuring we provide a reliable and robust service to our Customers.

Salary & Benefits:

£38,362 - £50,705 base salary, this also comes with a shift allowance of £15,000 plus annual personal bonus, 15% employer pension contribution, 4% flexible cash pot, private medical insurance, 30 days holiday plus bank holidays. What Team does this sit within?

Our Digital channels are the core of the Bank, operating 24*7, 365 days per year and servicing over 80% of our customers interactions. We’re redefining our ways of working, putting our customers at the centre of what we do, using great technology to provide an excellent customer experience.

We need dedicated Service Engineers to help drive a Service culture and empower our engineers to deliver great, reliable software.
This is a fantastic opportunity to be part of a great team supporting the largest Digital bank in the UK; to use innovative tooling and technologies as the Bank embarks on a journey toward Cloud computing.

About the role:

We’re looking for Service engineers who are passionate about service and ensuring our Customers receive the most reliable service possible. We want to automate wherever we can, removing repetitive, manual tasks. You’ll have a strong sense of ownership and integrity and enjoy working with both Business and Engineering teams.

What would you be doing for us

  • Provide technical expertise to investigate and resolve the highest criticality incidents

  • Closely monitoring the services using innovative tooling

  • Resolving incidents and responding to tech alerts

  • Work collaboratively to reduce technical debt and mitigate operational risk

  • Responsible for continuous improvement and automation that removes repletion and manual task

What we need from you

  • Experience of the following technologies: Java, LUNIX, IBM Websphere, Oracle, DB2

  • Scripting using bash, shell, python

  • Service mindset acquired through supporting critical applications

  • Experience using Service management tools such as Service NOW, Dynatrace and Splunk

  • Strong problem solving abilities in a complex multi-tier technical environment

  • You’ll be a great communicator across different stakeholder groups

We'd love you to have:

  • Experience supporting applications in a public cloud environment such as GCP, AWS would be an advantage.
