An exciting opportunity has become available as a Strategic Account Executive to lead on our work in one of the UK’s largest central government departments. The Account Executive plays an important role in customer transformation through strong partnership. This is an executive role that has evolved beyond selling products and services. Our modern Account Executive is a trusted advisor who leads with societal purpose and business outcomes in mind. This approach enables true strategic partnerships that are sustainable and deliver positive impact to both organisations.

The successful candidate will lead a large v-team to support this department meet its business challenges, accelerate strong business outcomes and ultimately improve the services and experiences that it provides to citizens.

  • Defining the strategic vision, engaging with leadership, and leading the digital transformation with CxO level, Digital and Business Decision Makers (BDM).
  • Effectively engage and run a large virtual, diverse team, all supporting the customers vision.
  • Communicate and coordinate with a broad range of senior stakeholders within Microsoft and within your customers.
  • Take our customers on a journey of digital change, moving to cloud based services and leveraging the innovation and optimization that can bring.
  • Take ownership for your customer’s experience with Microsoft.
  • Challenge traditional thinking and approaches with empathy and think about how we can help our customers do things differently.
  • Meet or exceed revenue goals set by the business.
  • Increase Microsoft’s credibility, impact and depth of engagement in both your customers and in the broader Public Sector market.
  • Engage and successfully collaborate with our Microsoft Partner Network in building the right solutions for our customers, as part of the large Microsoft virtual team.
  • Ensure that the customer gets the very best value from their Microsoft investments, looking for every opportunity to address our customers challenges using our software and services.


Common attributes we typically look for, can include:

  • Track record of confidently holding executive level relationships and influencing at senior levels within customers
  • Experience in Enterprise Sales, Business Consulting or Consultative Selling, preferably in Digital Technology or similar areas
  • Public Sector industry knowledge and experience either as a customer or as a supplier is desired
