Senior Civil Engineer - Highways/Infrastructure

As a Senior Civil Engineer, you will be responsible for:
Supporting growth in our infrastructure business to support successful delivery of highways and infrastructure projects
Assisting with winning work across the transportation sector
Contributing to the development of junior staff and take on line management responsibilities
Engaging with a range of clients in the public, regulated and private sectors across the South West
Providing opportunities to work on major schemes of national importance.
Innovative concept design, detailed design and specification, and the production of all forms of technical engineering deliverables.
Management of project resources and budgets.
Site based roles including construction support and supervision.
Client and project stakeholder management, and coordination of project interfaces.
Technical, procedural, and behavioural leadership, and mentoring of more junior staff, to ensure minimum standards of health and safety, quality, and ethics are maintained in undertaking all project and other activities
Business development including developing and maintaining client and contractor relationships, and producing or contributing to winning proposals for new work.
Development of links with local universities
Required for the position of Senior Civil Engineer:
A degree in a relevant engineering discipline and be qualified or near qualified with a professional body such as ICE, CIWEM, IStructE or CIHT.
A working knowledge and experience of relevant Highway Design Standards and specifications (DMRB, MCHW)
Experience of using industry standard design software such as AutoCAD Civils 3D, Bentley OpenRoads/MX.
Aptitude in using and manipulating Microsoft Excel formulae.
The ability to check, lead and coordinate the production of high-quality engineering deliverables for construction
A clear understanding of relevant UK health and safety legislation and good practice, particularly for roles and responsibilities as a 'Designer' and 'Client' under CDM Regulations 2015
Commercial awareness and experience of NEC forms of contract
Preferred, but not required:
The willingness and ability to coach or mentor others
Full computer literacy
Full UK driving licence
Ability and willingness to travel in the UK though mainly within South West England.
