This role is critical for building and maintaining Mott MacDonald's relationships with our clients, planning accounts, delivering projects, and building a client centric experience; it will be responsible for further developing the Buildings and Cities unit's presence in Dublin.

All account leaders will report directly to the Regional Director/Principal Account Leader (RD/PAL). They will be expected to win great work, grow the account to maximise opportunity for Mott MacDonald, and be accountable for the delivery of excellent projects. RD/PALs will provide support ensuring that client's projects are delivered to time, cost, and quality and that Mott MacDonald is commercially successful. They will play a senior role in gaining trust with our clients and key stakeholders.

RD/PALs have a wide network of stakeholders to manage including Client representatives, Sector Leaders, Divisional General Managers, Resource Managers, Bid Principal/Managers, Project Managers, Practice Managers, and other stakeholders with interest in our Clients. Where appropriate, RD/PALs will work with and support Key Account Leaders, where a Client is complex and requires the attention of more than one Mott MacDonald Division or Unit.

RD/PALs will be expected to own one or more client accounts personally, to direct, manage, and mentor Account Leaders for a defined set of other client accounts and to take accountability and provide consolidated reporting for the aggregate performance of all these accounts. The role reports directly to the Division General Manager.

Candidate Specification :
Required criteria for the ideal Account Leader:
Ideally degree qualified in either a technical field and/or business degree.
Other degree qualifications considered if experience is aligned with our services.
Desirable qualifications and skills in: project management, programme management and business development.
Ability to initiate and develop client relationships for growing the sector and winning work. Driving a strategic approach to customer account management and the winning of work.
Previous experience having worked within the Buildings and Infrastructure sector is preferred but not essential.
A strong interest in this market space is essential.

Job Profile :
Key Responsibilities

RD/PALs will contribute and support our strategy as key strategic enablers, leading on Mott MacDonald's key client accounts.

As the primary point of contact, role holders are responsible for the relationships with a Client or group of Clients. Key Account Leaders may be appointed where multiple parts of the business face the same client. This is a complex role, combining both operational and strategic challenges, balancing the needs of multiple stakeholders across a global matrix. The ability to prioritise, influence without authority and collaborate is fundamental, substantiated by subject matter expertise and a drive for excellence and results.

Critical responsibilities, working with Account Leaders, include:
Managing the activities of Account Leaders
Developing strong and robust client relationships
Growing and developing key Accounts within Mott MacDonald in response to organisational needs and Mott MacDonald strategy
Identifying Opportunities and turning them into Prospects
Driving the bidding process, converting Prospects into Projects ensuring bids are technically and commercially sound
Delivering commercially robust projects and quality outcomes for Clients to budget on schedule through project teams
Managing risk and commercial performance on the projects for their Accounts. An Account Leader may have a number of Bid and Project Principals working with them on their accounts
Promoting account leadership across the wider business
Working effectively with the Resource Manager and the Sector/Practice Leaders to bring the right resources to deliver the project to the Client's satisfaction and meeting Mott MacDonald's profit or contribution targets
Running appropriate account meetings with client and senior level management involvement
Directing, managing and mentoring Account Leaders in delivering all the above for their client accounts
Addressing client's issues and fulfilling their aspirations on sustainability
