We - the Energy Unit, specifically the Power, Process & Nuclear division are looking to recruit a Senior Mechanical Building Services Engineer with experience in building services, nuclear ventilation and infrastructure design to join our team. This role will be to support associates and other senior line managers.
* Carry out detailed surveys of mechanical services and equipment to establish the extent, condition and operational status of existing installations and gain enough information to complete reports, findings and recommendations
* Production and review of detailed design calculations to support design proposals
* Production and review of detailed design drawings, layouts and schematics including heating, ventilation, LTHW, Chilled Water, specialist LEV and BMS installations
* Production and review of Specifications and plant schedules
* Support production of estimates of work elements including equipment and man hour costs
* Reporting of design progress and project management of commissions within agreed programmes
* Ensure compliance with construction (design and management) regulations
* Capable of being Client-facing
* Organising and arranging personal workload and activities
Candidate specification:
* In-depth knowledge of current Building Regulations and relevant Legislation
* Knowledge of nuclear ventilation guidelines and standards
* Experience of using design software such as Hevacomp, IES
* Design of ventilation, air conditioning and cooling systems
* Revit and AutoCAD knowledge and experience will be beneficial
* Experience within a Defence, pharmaceutical, industrial, or nuclear regulated environment
* Initiative and self-motivation to make decisions
* Good verbal and written communication skills
* Degree in building services, or equivalent
